Some of my colleagues and I are trained to see the signs of strangulation in a survivor of DV. They can be saying everything is fine but if we observe popped blood vessels in eyes, raspy voice, red dots all over face (that may present as acne looking) etc we move FAST
Strangulation is deadly, itโs not a precursor that things may become deadly. Itโs a sign that things are already deadly. It is already attempted murder. The person has already tried to kill you. They are just more emboldened to be closer to succeeding next time.
