@ashuriena @DeadmanMax Theres good intention from the people lobbying but it has gotten us nowhere. From the time of Agha Petros what have we achieved for our nation from lobbying? I’ve met with the Foreign Ministers office here in Australia after the Baghdeda Fire and nothing came out of it.

@DanielKakish My question is how is our name reflected officially? Do we go by a hyphenated name inclusive of all 4 identities? History has shown this hasn’t worked. What nation state do we belong to? Is it Assyria or Chaldea or Aram? These are three completely different geographically areas.

I have to note this issue isn’t exclusively affecting Assyrians, all Iraqis are facing it. However, the access for Assyrians to leave Iraq is much easier than it is for other groups, resulting in a higher rate of departure.

The sculptures are half way down the Zawa mountain and require considerable effort to get to. Disappointing to see locals desecrate the artefacts and the government not doing their duty in protecting it.

@gabrieltrayono @DanielKakish Ahuno Gabriel I hope you do not see the Assyrian name as tied to the Church of the East, because it's not. Many people within the Syriac Orthodox Church are proud Assyrians. In fact, our nationalist fathers were (Ashur Yousif, Naum Faiq, Farid Nazha).

@DanielKakish Although with good intention in trying to compromise, it will not push us towards unity. We need to unite under a secular national identity i.e. we shouldn’t be listening to clergy about who we are just as we wouldn’t listen to a doctor about how to build a bridge.

@DanielKakish @malikashur I don’t believe we will have full unity. Instead, I believe building an Assyrian identity that is for all our people and not just one church, and treating our people as one, will make us come together. There’s a reason our enemies are against the Assyrian name the most.

@tripoli187 @AssyrianEa Many Chaldean Catholics identify as Assyrian in Sydney. I haven’t met one that has said they’re Arab. Many aren’t from Baghdad either, they’re also from the Nineveh Plain, Nohadra and Zakho.

@DanielKakish It begs the question once we’re on a political level do we raise all three flags? Where does this compromise end? I have to reiterate that the most encompassing name is Assyrian which is used by our people from all sects. I have yet to meet a CoE or Chaldean identify as Aramean.

@DanielKakish My point is that we have Surayeh/Suryoye from all our churches say they are Assyrian but you won't find people identifying as Aramean/Syriac in the CoE or CCC Church, nor will you find people identifying as Chaldean in the SOC or CoE.

@chaldean_queen @unitedassyria We’re all Assyrians regardless of denomination. However there is a Church of the East population in the Nineveh Plain (Sharafiya, Dashqotaneh, Ain Baqre, Ain Sifni).
