Rebuilding our Chaldean Christian presence in Mesopotamia (Iraq), including in the corridor of Chaldean towns in Nineveh Plains, Iraq, known as the Chaldean Valley (Tel Keppe, Alqosh, Teleskuf, Batnaya, Baqofa, Karemlash).
Chaldean Christians:
Ethnicity: Chaldean
Language: Chaldean-Aramaic(mix of Akkadian & Aramaic)
Indigenous to Mesopotamia(Iraq); descendants of Chaldeans-Babylonians
Faith: Eastern Catholics
Church: Chaldean Church of East (a/k/a Chaldean Catholic Church)
Population: 2 million
Chaldeans are planning for our long-term future in Mesopotamia. We are working on rebuilding our Chaldean towns in Nineveh Plains (Alqosh, TelKeppe, Teleskuf, Batnaya, Baqofa, Karemlash & more), and supporting Chaldeans in Dohuk, Ankawa/Erbil, Baghdad, and Basra.✝️❤️
#Chaldeans
are the indigenous people of Mesopotamia. We have had ancient Chaldean villages, churches, & monasteries in Mesopotamia for thousands of years. To preserve our indigenous culture and beautiful Chaldean language, Nineveh Plains should become the “Chaldean Province.”❤️😍
The Chaldean Church of the East (See of Babylon) was founded in 1st century AD just outside of Babylon. 1st pic is of the original Church. It has been based in Central Mesopotamia (Iraq) for almost 2,000 years, first in Seleucia-Ctesiphon until 9th century AD & then in Baghdad.
Chaldeans: Indigenous to Iraq, 98-99% are from Iraq; 1-2% from Turkey. DNA shows closest match to ancient Mesopotamians.
Assyrians: 70% are from Iran; 30% from Turkey. DNA mostly shows Persian.
This is why some hate Chaldeans so much. We are the true indigenous people of Iraq!
Vast majority of Palm Sunday photos/videos out of Mesopotamia (Iraq) were of indigenous

Modern “Assyrians” (Christians from Hakkari & Urmia) have spent 21 years obsessed with Nineveh Plains. But there’s not even ONE Assyrian village in Nineveh Plains. All the Christian towns in Nineveh Plains are Chaldean or Syriac. They aim to steal our Chaldean towns. Never!!
More projects are coming to restore, rebuild, and preserve the ancient Chaldean Christian towns in Nineveh Plains, Iraq/Akkadia. Chaldeans in the diaspora are working together with Chaldeans in Iraq to keep our ancient Chaldean towns alive. 🙏🏼❤️😍
Chaldeans are the indigenous people of Mesopotamia. We are the culmination and direct descendants of the ancient Mesopotamian civilizations: Sumerians-Akkadians-Babylonians-Chaldeans-Assyrians.

*She’s Syriac-Aramean, not Assyrian. Assyrians just wait for Chaldeans or Syriacs (2 highly successful communities) to accomplish something and then just falsely claim the accomplishment as being “Assyrian.” It’s a way of getting out of having to accomplish anything themselves.
Assyrian student Miral Sabah Behnam from Ibn al-Abri Syriac Mixed Secondary School achieved first place in Iraq in the third intermediate exams after obtaining a 100% average in all lessons! While being less than 1% of the population, our students remain at the top of the nation.
Chaldeans, let’s stop wasting our time on modern “Assyrian” fanatics who spend their time attacking Chaldeans. Chaldeans are continuing to rebuild our culture in Iraq, incl’d Nineveh Plains. We won’t give an inch of our towns to Assyrians, they can all go back to Hakkari & Urmia.
Chaldeans are continuing to rebuild our indigenous Chaldean culture in Mesopotamia (Iraq), and we look forward to continuing this work in our towns (Tel Keppe, Teleskuf, Batnaya, Baqofa, Alqosh, Karamlesh), churches, and monasteries in Nineveh Plains as well.
Amen!

have only one name/identity. Our name is Chaldean, our Church is Chaldean, our language is Chaldean. Chaldeans shouldn’t use false identities.
Sumerian history is Chaldean history. Chaldeans built-up the important Sumerian city-states of “UR of the Chaldeans” & URUK. Sumerians-Akkadians-Babylonians-Chaldeans were all connected. Ancient Mesopotamia was known as “Land of Sumer & Akkad,” also as “Land of the Chaldeans.”
A Persian Assyrian w/a profile pic of Jesus curses at me&my fam because I won’t denounce my Chaldean identity. Persian Assyrians tend to be aggressive, their DNA is more Persian&Caucus not Iraqi. But they were lured into believing they are Assyrian & that Iraq belongs to them.
God bless them all! In 2017, I visited Baghdeda (Qaraqosh) right after ISIS was forced out, the destruction in the town was heartbreaking. The revival of this Syriac Catholic town - even after the residents have faced so many tragedies- is beautiful to see.❤️✝️

Here’s the transcript of “Ecumenical Council of Florence” (1445AD) where the first Chaldeans rejoined the Catholic Church. ArchBishop Timothy presents himself to Vatican as “Metropolitan of the Chaldeans” & professes his faith “in his own Chaldean tongue.”
@Elie42450128
Your entire identity is a forgery. Chaldeans have a church in Dohuk from 325AD, a church in Nineveh Plains from 258AD & of course we have the beautiful St Rabban Monastery. Trust us, Chaldeans aren’t giving our towns/land in Nineveh Plains to anyone, now go beg for land in Urmia.
Chaldean DNA is the closest match to Nemrik-9 sample from 8750BC in Duhok region. Native Chaldeans have lived in Mesopotamia (Iraq) before empires existed. This also confirms Dr. Amer Fatuhi’s claim that Chaldeans existed in Mesopotamia as far back as Ubaid Period (Proto-Kaldu).

Modern “Assyrians” came into Iraq as refugees from Hakkari, Turkey & Urmia, Iran around 1920. They lived in refugee camps in Iraq until 1960s. They’ve spent 100 years harassing Chaldean Catholics of Iraq, including trying to turn our people to paganism. Time for them to go home.

Bakhdida is a Syriac town, not Assyrian. There are zero Assyrian towns in Nineveh Plains. All the Christian towns in Nineveh Plains are either Chaldean or Syriac.

On April 1st, 2024, Chaldeans will celebrate our Chaldean Babylonian New Year 7,324 (Akitu). Akitu is an ancient Babylonian festival that marked the renewal of life and beginning of spring in ancient Mesopotamia. New Year 7,324 is based on the founding of the first Sumerian city.
For Chaldeans, this is our homeland-Mesopotamia (Iraq). We are connected to south through Uruk & “Ur of the Chaldeans,” hometown of Abraham. Our Chaldean Church was founded in Babylon (Central Iraq). We have ancient churches in Zakho/Dohuk & towns from 745BC in Nineveh Plains.

The ones that are hardcore “nationalists” and hate Chaldeans are generally Assyrians from Iran, they want to steal Chaldeans’ heritage and history in Iraq and takeover our Chaldean towns in Nineveh Plains. It will never happen!!

In 401BC, Xenophon the Greek writes of encountering Chaldeans in Mesopotamia (Iraq). This is from the book, “Expedition of Cyrus.” Chaldeans are the indigenous people of Mesopotamia (Iraq) and have continuously lived there for thousands of years.
@assyriancrusade
All complete make believe!! None of this is true. The Assyrians were destroyed in 612BC. The Chaldean Empire was the last native empire of Mesopotamia. Persians were dealing with Chaldeans in Mesopotamia.
@assyriancrusade
“Assyrians” are 5% of Iraqi Christians. Mesopotamia (Iraq) has nothing to do with you. It is the Land of the Chaldeans. And it will never come under your rule. 💥💥
@assyriancrusade
A correction: There’s no such thing as “Assyrian language.” This term was created in last 50 years. The correct name of indigenous language of East Mesopotamia is “Chaldean” (mix of Akkadian & Aramaic). Chaldean was the language of the last native ruling empire of Mesopotamia.
Chaldeans are not “Assyrians,” “Chaldean Assyrian,” “Chaldeans/Assyrians/Syriacs.” We have just one name/identity - it is Chaldean. Also, Chaldeans have our own community leaders. Other groups must stop trying to speak on behalf of the Chaldean people (80% of Iraqi Christians).
@thesuraye
@brawadis
You are not even Assyrian so how can he be? Your modern “Assyrian” identity is fake. It was created by the British for the Nestorians of Hakkari & Urmia around 1850. The truth can be hard to handle.
“Four letters sent by Mar Shimun XVII Abraham (the Patriarch of the Nestorians or Assyrian sect from 1820 to 1861) in which he called himself the Patriarch of the Chaldeans.” Facts don’t care about your feelings.
Iraq was invaded by US/UK because Saddam & Israel kept battling for 10+ years (see August 2002 article). 21 years later, after millions got killed & trillions were spent in Iraq, it’s now Iran & Israel fighting. Shows how much of a waste the Iraq invasion was.

Yes, Baghdad and Basra have become very difficult to live in. But Chaldeans have had a presence in Central & Southern Mesopotamia for so long. I can’t see Chaldeans completely leaving anytime soon.
Liutprand of Cremona was a Bishop & diplomat. Around 945AD, he was sent to Constantinople as a diplomat & he noted certain ethnic groups he encountered in the Middle East, incl’d Chaldeans. “Other nations that are in the same region, that is, the Armenians, Persians, Chaldeans…”
Important facts for some Church of East members who aren't aware: The Church of the East (also known as "See of Babylon") formed around Babylon in 1st century AD & was headquartered just outside of Babylon until 9th century AD. After that the headquarters were moved to Baghdad.
@AshurayaMawana
This lady is speaking a dialect of the Chaldean language. I understood her and the interviewer. This is how Chaldeans in the Zakho & Duhok region speak the Chaldean language. Before 1950, Chaldeans, Jews, & Kurds lived in Zakho. Her Christian neighbors were Chaldeans.
The first empire of Mesopotamia & in the entire world was the Akkadian Empire (ca. 2350–2150 B.C.), founded by Sargon the Great. Akkadian Empire encompassed all of Mesopotamia & Levant. Chaldeans are the Akkadians. Modern “Assyrians” derive from Persia & the Caucuses.
The Assyrians are the only original people of the area that is known by Assyriologists as the ‘Assyrian Triangle’ or ‘Central Assyria’. There’s not any other ethnicity that can claim legitimate historical ties to it besides the Assyrian people.
She rattles off something about Chaldeans wearing Arab clothes, speaking Arabic blah blah blah, even though I told her I speak Chaldean & my profile picture is of a Chaldean woman in traditional Chaldean dress from Iraq. 🤣😆
@Damavand333
@IsraelofAlqosh
“The Chaldean Account of Genesis” comes from ancient tablets found in Mesopotamia dating back to the early second millennium BC. Also, the Bible refers to Abraham originating from “UR of the Chaldeans” (means land of the Chaldeans) and the birth of Abraham happened around 2000BC.
@IsraelofAlqosh
Because they want to steal our villages in Nineveh Plains and claim our history and demographics in Iraq as theirs. It’s ethnic cleansing.
From the 1960s, Chaldeans had our own ethnic area in the U.S. called "Chaldean Town," but Assyrians think we just became Chaldeans in 1999 to spite Assyrian political parties who wanted to get land & money in Iraq off the backs of Chaldeans. What a joke!!😂
@sanothomas
I remember this. Back then it was shocking that such a thing could happen in Rome and look where we are now. But things will change and the evil of liberalism will end.
@unitedassyria
I’ve been to Bakhdida, the leaders/people call themselves Syriani & believe they are Arameans. Keep promoting lies, let’s see how far it gets your movement.
@AshurayaMawana
Interesting, when I said that among Iraqi Christians the word “Suraye” means Christians (not Assyrians),
@RobPutrus
claimed I made this up. This Jewish man who lived in Iraq before 1950 confirms the same thing.
@netewiperesti
No, Chaldeans are not Kurdish Christians. Chaldeans are indigenous people of Mesopotamia and the descendants of the ancient Chaldean-Babylonians of Mesopotamian. We are Semitic, have our language and culture that goes back 7000+ years.
@Sherefname
Batnaya is only Chaldean, it’s not Assyrian at all. And it’s been a Chaldean village for thousands of years. The town has only Chaldean Churches in it and it’s located in a corridor of Chaldean towns, known as the “Chaldean Valley.” JM Fiey has no idea what he’s talking about.
@a2raya_
Please stop using Chaldean statistics in Iraq to push your political agenda. Chaldeans makeup 80% of Iraqi Christians, Assyrians are only 5% of Iraqi Christians. There’s no more than 5,000 Assyrians left in all of Iraq.
@k9ulin
@THOMASCHALDEAN
Even in modern times, the symbolic Cross used by both the Chaldean Church and the Assyrian Church is the Chaldean Cross. This further reinforces that the original founders of the original Church of the East (just outside Babylon, Iraq) were Chaldeans.
@k8ulin
You are an Iranian pushing false information on Mesopotamian history. Focus on Iranian instead. Nebuchadnezzar was Chaldean as was his father. His father destroyed the Assyrians.
@thorem_hal
None of these are Assyrian monasteries. Mar Mattai is Syriac, Rabban Hormizd is a Chaldean monastery. Assyrians have no monasteries in Iraq because modern Assyrians are from Turkey & Iran, not Iraq. You are an Assyrian pretending to be Armenian.
