Ultrasound is getting traction, and some exciting work was widely covered, e.g. by @emilylmullin on @ForestNeurotech @SumnerLN here What is less covered is the platform potential of ultrasound as a modality and an opportunity for startups associated with it. Various types of functional ultrasound, therapeutic/interventional ultrasound, are used/considered for increasing the permeability of BBB (for drug delivery and biopsy), imaging, and stimulation. Someone who unifies all these types of US will be in a powerful position to become a leading neurotech/BCI platform.
