Interviewed a candidate that told me his salary requirements were 120k but would be okay w 100k.
Told him our budget was 150k & to ask for 140k.
Guess what, he got an offer for 140. 🥹

No lol. If anything, It’s less appealing as a recruiter or the company as a whole bc realistically they’ll probably leave in less than a year for a higher paying role anyways
@debtfree_expat
I would definitely acknowledge that the posting said up to 106 & ask what they are looking for from a candidate to receive the max range - then ideally the recruiter would be able to explain that & give you an opportunity to sell yourself on having what they need + up your pay
@rhymes_melody
I personally would 100% tell them. Some people come from low paying companies where it would seem asking for more is crazy. Some people have been laid off & really need work. Everyone’s diff but I would
W me being in HR, one thing about me, is if we’re hiring for a job that I know someone in my circle can do, I’m putting you first in the line. Idc idc idc. We’re gonna get you that job 🫡

@rhymes_melody
I would acknowledge the range & ask what they’re looking for from a candidate to make the higher side of the range. If (& they should) tell you - use that as an opportunity to explain your relevant experience & why you would be that candidate making the high end!
If only I got commission based off salary 🥲
Or at all. Lmao.
Yall are so money motivated you think someone has to help someone else to get something back in return 🙄
@LiberalPlano
@AnneAndStuff
I understand why you wouldn’t - but my role is to fill jobs all while give you a great experience. I do ask if they’re comfortable telling my current salary bc I want to help you & I give full transparency, I earn the trust & get it in return
Every time I interview a candidate I ask their pay range. When they low ball themselves I will literally tell them “okay no. You’re gonna tell the manager you’re looking for x amount. Do not tell them what you told me”
I want everyone to win & I will help as best as I can.
@JamalNeff
Im internal - not sure what tips you’re looking for but def would make sure your resume is top notch. It’s a good way to make an immediate impact
