We remain opposed to metro mayors, they do not offer the powers needed to regenerate our county appropriately and show only token effort for leveling up.
But we will be contesting this election and will be using it as a platform to call for a Yorkshire Regional Parliament.
🏴 North Yorkshire and the city of York will have a directly elected mayor for the first time.
This comes after the government green lit a £540 million devolution deal today, giving the region substantially greater powers and resources.
