The most recent articles in the Media today have raised some so called concerns by other Airports, Airlines and Aviation consultants We have contributed to one of them and hope to get a reply to others. Yorkshire Post regarding an objection to the subsidies committee written by York aviation on behalf of Leeds Bradford airport, An article by the BBC with Ryanair stating that they have no plans for DSA, As it’s a Hard Sell. An article in the Yorkshire Post Stating transparency is required the full business case should be made available. if there’s any chance of DSA reopening All against the reopening of DSA being shared by these media outlets. Let’s look at a few things here !! Leeds Bradford airport is the closest competitor to a reopened Doncaster Sheffield airport. Doncaster Sheffield airport has so much more to offer than Leeds Bradford does, Location is a problem for LBA it has issues with the weather, cancelled and diverted flights, people getting stranded on the other side of the country when this happens They have ongoing issues with night time flights where they are going over the allowed quota that’s in place. Ryanair are based at LBA they won’t want to move or have their monopoly for budget flights affected by a reopened DSA. York aviation Louise congdon has been involved with the airport story over the last 20 years trying to stop Doncaster Sheffield Airport opening and now from reopening. Originally she was employed by Manchester Airport group MAG who were against the opening of the airport way back when in 2001/2002 She played a part in the public inquiry against the opening of the airport in 2001/2 against the authorities and the campaign FLY Finningley Locals say Yes They lost and planning consent was given in 2003 for the airport we see now. The lady then left Manchester Airport group employment and set up York Aviation. Over the last 2 1/2 years of our Campaigning she's popped up occasionally speaking out against the campaign I think the first visit was BBC Look North in august 2022 when the closure was announced We don’t need Doncaster Sheffield Airport Aviation doesn’t need it, There’s no demand for it That’s why it’s closed etc etc And every time that something happens or somethings in the news York Aviation is there singing the praises for other airports and has systematically made public their opinion against reopening DSA Or has been employed by other Airports to do the same !! Now obviously they are paid to do it. A GUN FOR HIRE TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER If according to these other Airports, Airlines and Aviation consultants. DSA will never make it, It will be a drain on financial resources, Has no place in aviation, Its not needed. If DSA is going to fail and not worth investing in why are they so against it Surely if that was the case they would just let the project continue with no interruptions. They’d sit back and watch it fail !!! There’s no impartiality here.
