It’s not, my son fell at University in Dublin just before lockdown.
He broke his hip and was operated on within 24 hours - with it being pinned together.
No charge other than a one off prescription charge for drugs in Dublin before recuperation in Belfast.

Derry doesn’t need to be the last stop on the existing contracted NIR network, this needs to be expanded again to include the West.

A Belfast centric University will always put its own core interests ahead of a small peripheral part that is 70 miles away.

Most people in NI don’t have any sectarian hang-ups about using Dublin (the 2nd biggest airport in the British & Irish Isles)
Connections are everything, & along with US immigration clearance & numerous parking opportunities are massive draws for travellers.

Followed by cross party agreement in Dublin on a New Ireland White Paper, to maximise public confidence north and south to ensure as big a majority as possible.

Does Belfast need 85% of all 3rd level Education places?
Derry also has need for economic regeneration to transform and help grow the city.
Education offers hope and opportunity, there is need for equity in provision.
