@ThePOTSPostman
Someone posted the other day about feeling mentally and physically exhausted after even pleasant social interactions. I'm experiencing that today.
@The_Acumen
The inability or unwillingness to empathize is a huge frustration for me as well. It's been fomented and exploited by politics to divide us with criminal effect.

@JayMRivera
I resigned as Assistant Principal last year because of this. Any attempt I made toward staff wellness felt so condescending and superficial when I had no control over teachers' ridiculous workload and was ridiculously overworked myself. So sorry you you're going through this.
@theBrianaMills
Thanks for this reminder. I don't think people without chronic illness realize the guilt that comes with not being able to heal yourself. Especially if you've been able to bounce back from other health conditions in the past.
@Kenneth33071904
I've been astonished for years at what people will accept. History makes so much more sense now, but I don't think that's a good thing.
People are right to focus on SCOTUS as the vehicle for destruction. But there is a broader story of transnational organized crime and corrupt US institutions that spans decades. Operatives like Jeffrey Epstein lie at its core. I tell that story here:
@KeneAkers
As a white woman who has been at times shocked and disappointed by some colleagues' reactions to DEI initiatives, I feel these comments are dead on. They're threatened - the hierarchy part and the self reflection part.
It can be really lonely caring about not spreading harmful diseases, but you're not alone.
And I think the world will wake up at some point, but until then: hold fast.
❤️👊
Reposting. Every time I see Merrick Garland trending I think how frustrating it must be to sound unheeded warnings for years. Accept that Garland is compromised. Why hasn't Biden fired him? We are in deep.
@eduleadership
"teachers should be able to use their sick leave without guilt and without worrying about anything other than getting well." I think you should've stuck with this sentence, because afterwards you contradict it (and proceed to rank teachers according to your definition)
@LakotaMan1
I am a non Native person who is glad that more Natives are getting elected to federal government. I think we have a lot to learn from Native people about living with nature instead of fighting her.
“When New Mexicans are afraid to be in crowds, to take their kids to school, to leave a baseball game — when their very right to exist is threatened by the prospect of violence at every turn — something is very wrong,”
BREAKING: New Mexico’s governor issued an emergency public health order that suspends the open and permitted concealed carry of firearms in Albuquerque for 30 days in the midst of a spate of gun violence.
“The Covid people are a cult! You all need to stop being weird and just do what everybody else is doing and pretend the pandemic ended ages ago. Forget about what the science says, have faith, we can’t all be wrong, join us. You don’t have to live in fear if you just give in”
JD Vance is SO afraid to face Kamala Harris and defend his past abhorrent statements on abortion that he is refusing to debate her.
Retweet if you refuse to let Vance hide from his record
We see you, JD. 👀

My late father, a lifelong educator, retired to Florida. He would be horrified to witness the attack on education in his adopted state.
@eduleadership
If they didn't have a reason, they wouldn't take a day. My point is that either its their decision or it isn't; you can't decide what is "not a reason".

Yes! When my daughter was only beginning to talk, I asked her if she wanted some chicken. With a worried look, she said, "bok-bok chicken?" I said, "Yeah, bok-bok chicken", thinking I was going to have a vegan child. She looked sad for a minute, then shrugged and took a bite. 🍗

For the millionth time, it's NOT about "one's own health". It's about protecting others, but you are choosing not to understand the basics of public health, or history, for that matter.

Hence the First Amendment which guarantees separation of church and state. Go away, we don't want your fake Christianity shoved down our throats.

Elon Musk is committing election interference in real time. He has cancelled the News feed on Twitter and replaced it with his own Pro Trump shit he wants you to see.
The DOJ should be at his doorstep. This is the real

This is the political violence we've been warning about. Do not escalate.
Even if you hate Trump, now is not the time to feed the machine. This is not normal. You have been polarized, traumatized, and terrorized to react to this moment. Don't.
NEW: Douglas County Schools are cancelling classes for Thursday. Nearly 1,000 teachers called out sick in protest after the newly-elected conservative school board majority was accused of secretly meeting to force out the superintendent.

I was all signed up to do an LC trial, started to feel a little better, decided I didn't want to identify as a person with LC, didn't join the trial, and soon thereafter got much worse. IME denying it is actually harmful.
5) Avian flu outbreaks among birds now number over 1100 in the U.S. alone across 48 states. Basically be cautious around any birds that you encounter for the near future. Because 50% mortality is no joke. If a young healthy 21 year old can succumb, we need to be vigilant.
@ModestTeacher
I resigned as Asst Principal last year after burnout just broke me. I am committed to helping other educators avoid my fate. Now I work with them to improve their mental fitness so they can do their job and advocate for themselves and a more sustainable system.
Spain is dying
rapidly becoming a desert with almost 75% of the country already in the process of desertification and with many months of drought and now intense heat and wildfires
Last year 300,000 hectares went up in flames and likely worse this year
@mcmansionhell
I went for bodywork last year and started sobbing about all of the suffering in the world. I got an uncharacteristically stern lecture about how if I continued to empathize for the whole world I would not survive.

Haha, for millennia! I'm sure I'm not the only dinosaur who can remember a time before Bush introduced NCLB to start the process of dismantling public education. You do realize these test don't measure anything other than socioeconomic status, right?

I live in Taos and have family all over the country. When they come to visit the first place they want to go is the Pueblo. Words can't describe it...a UNESCO world heritage site and still occupied to this day.

These challenging times have really brought out the worst in some people. I'm so tired of the armchair quarterbacking and the blame game. Thank you for taking the time to educate people.

"She was knocked down, hitting her head." According to your own words, that's at least manslaughter. And there's plenty of evidence of ant-trans bias.
“I like violent encounters with violent people,” an officer said on the lapel footage. “That’s why I became a cop. I didn’t come to f****** help old ladies who can’t cross the f****** road.”
@PearsonNorthAm
As if. We can all see through your blatant profiteering off of a pandemic that exacerbated an existing teacher shortage. Your inferior products are not the solution, only part of the problem.

Other countries have more locally grown,fresh ingredients and less factory farming. Once I learned that the body stores chemicals in fat cells, I try to eat organic as much as possible. Don't need any more fat cells 😂

Is there a link to the GoFundMe that we can post? I was sharing videos but getting some pushback about sharing unconfirmed rumors, which I understand. I want to help in any way I can.

They're doing it unconsciously. I've seen my husband do it. The level of awareness required to maintain the seal is difficult for some at first, but absolutely can be learned easily.
@OBrienSci
It absolutely sucks. I remember feeling like a crappy teacher and crappy mom at the same time. The fact that you are aware of this dilemma means you are less susceptible to burnout, though
When I was 16 in the 1970s I was expelled from high school for being a lesbian and put in a psychiatric ward for conversion therapy to de-gay me. It was so traumatic, I attempted suicide. I was fortunate--I survived. So I am celebrating another birthday, today. But conversion
@AcrossTheMersey
If I'm being honest with myself, I reluctantly admit the same. We suffered a flash flood that was not forewarned or declared an emergency, I was forced into early retirement due to long covid, and my spouse and I have each lost a parent.
@JTommins
Most disturbing for me is that this is happening under Biden. As a long time educator I know neither oarty has supported education, but this is a new level of sacrifice to the war chest.
