@maxfawcett The carbon tax is on inelastic demand, meaning the tax won't reduce consumption; people still have to heat their homes & drive to work. The rebate doesn't cover anyone's annual tax payment, meaning the poor are better off without the tax. Simple.

@jeffgoodell It's so hot bc of your vivid imagination. The GAT this morning is 14,55C, The GMT in 1896 was 15C. The mean from 1950-1980 was 15C. If there's any warming at all, it's due to high absolute humidity, not CO2, e.g. the Honga-Tonga eruption.

@rgatess That top squiggle is from 2014, when CO2 was 415 ppm. The bottom one is 2023, with CO2 at 423 ppm. So, a difference 8 ppm takes you from the top to the bottom of the graph. Climate science is full of scandalous assertions like that.
