One good thing about Trump speculating about taking Greenland is that it might inspire more people to think about what's happening in the icy north and to pick up @NeilShubin's ENDS OF THE EARTH. I can't recommend highly enough. It's a cosmic adventure story written in ice.

Love how Texas grid is moving in exactly the opposite direction of Trump: Wind rising fast, coal falling fast.
ERCOT fuel mix from 2006 to 2024 now available: - Natural gas above its 19-year running average of 43% to 44% in 2024. - Solar hitting 10% of total energy generated. - Wind holding steady %-wise, but up in absolute terms. - The ERCOT grid is now 42% clean energy!

"If there has been a single, fatal flaw in the design of Southern California as a civilization, it has been the decision to base the safety of present and future generations upon shortsighted extrapolations from the disaster record of the past half century." -- Mike Davis, "The Ecology of Fear"
