They casted Emma D’arcy because she embodied the Rhaenyra Targaryen character perfectly and was the best person to play the role. Milly Alcock was cast later because she was perfect for her as a teenager.

I’m sorry you felt that way but I agree with fatty. I was surprised at how quickly I warmed up to the voice and she actually felt like Ahsoka to me. I was worried she would feel like a completely different character but she didn’t.
