aemond is what happens when a mother raises her sons to be filled with hate towards not only others but even each other
she spent their entire childhood disparaging rhaenyra & her children while allowing aegon to abuse him
she did nothing to stop the world from destroying them
how are not supposed to root for the targaryens when daenerys performed a miracle of resurrection & is using her power to free enslaved people across essos?
GOT is so fun when people understand that the bloodline ends with Dany, and that is a huge part on why there is an emphasis on her infertility 😭 like we are not suppose to root for the Targaryen’s
i have many critiques of this battle but the biggest one is how aemond’s blatant attack against aegon & sunfyre stripped rhaenys & meleys of a dignified death
#HOTD
#HouseOfTheDragon
mind you, at the time she died daemon was fighting in the stepstones. with literally thousands of witnesses seeing him and caraxes.
her death wsn’t included to insinuate that he killed her 💀 it was literally just a plot device allowing him to remarry 😭
i really liked how they chose to develop her character in a different direction and highlight her empathy and wisdom rather than going into her madness and grief arc. it makes so much sense that her generosity would eventually make her westeros' most beloved queen...
also this is really funny to say when it’s just so not true 😭
corlys saying history remembers names not blood
most of the realm supporting rhaenyra and her heir jace during the Dance
so a grieving & healing woman not flying her dragon to war makes you lose respect for her but you respect the man that rapes children simply because he barely participated in some battles?
Why I'm on Green's side?Cause I respect a ruler who has the courage to join the war on their dragon.
I made a decision based on what I read in the books rather than a TV series that I think takes sides
A brief summary for those who are too lazy to read F&B
if rhaenyra was a man, the story would be impossible
rhaenyra being a woman is the core of the Dance, and the Dance is about the end of female authority in House Targaryen due to the greens
why are people not getting that aegon didn’t choose to kill her because she was simply a woman - had his main opponent been a man he would have killed him too
as to why the war began in the first place and why rhaenyra’s breast was cut - yes that obviously has ties to her gender
like i don’t even think aemond wants the throne or the power, he just wants to take all the hatred inside of himself & externalize it
whereas daemon just wanted to be viserys’ queen
Alicent was maritally raped as a teenager, sexually assaulted by another creepy old man, Criston was sexually harrassed by a spoilt princess so far above him that held so much power over him... Alicole deserve a fully consensual sex scene.
rhaenyra’s banner is beauty, even more so how it represents her deep family ties & love
aegon’s is boring, uninspired, & just cements how self centered he is
notice how other men are raised in the same society & societal pressures & don’t become violent monsters…
alicent should’ve been correcting the bad behaviors as they presented instead of allowing them to persist
of course this greedy little seahorse is gonna question their claim😭vaemond is set to inherit nothing while corlys is the richest man alive and his grandchildren are going to be king/queen & lord/lady
how do you read the entirety the Dance and not realize that jaehaera being passed over and eventual death is to further emphasize how the greens own beliefs ended their line?
@moreybnett
Aegon iii was 3 years older than jaehaera 11 to her 8 and jaehaera was so deeply traumatized that she couldn't even be at her wedding without being given milk of the poppy
You're making a headcanon and treating it as a fact, this is the reasoning given to us cope ig
on record alicent’s sons have:
- raped
- encouraged rape
- did nothing to protect the people of tumbleton (daeron)
- worked to usurp rhaenyra
- can’t go one sentence without calling rhaenyra a cunt (aemond)
- never won a fair fight during the dance
@nyralover
daenerys SHOULD bond with all three, she birthed them, brought them back to life, breastfed them
only missandei is worthy of being a rider, i will be livid if a man gets their grubby hands on her pristine children
shocking that the woman who lost her father, daughter, & son in a matter of days took time to grieve
this part of the dance was about how her family stepped up for her while she healed
mind you at this point of the story was doing nothing in the book, she was just drowning in misery in her bedroom. show rhaenyra is more interesting. i said what i said
the nature of their paternity only truly matter to three people: viserys, corlys, & laenor.
none of them discredited their heritage so they weren’t bastards😘✌🏻 cry about it
no one is saying she didn’t do bad things but y’all are acting as if she’s the Antichrist when she’s quite literally a victim and if you refuse to see then you’re retarded idk
yall ever think about how much the iron throne’s description resembles this art and how daenerys places herself at the bottom of the staircase to be closer to her people…
remember how george rr martin made one of the illustrators for a dance with dragons change his cover of daenerys in the meereen throne because he told him dany wants equality and she wouldn't place herself higher than her people. y'all could never convince me she's a villain 🙄
i say this as someone who absolutely loathes shoe daemon, but if there was any hint of physical abuse between daemon and rhaenyra, mushroom absolutely would’ve written the most diabolical shit about it
character from FB "would never"....what do you mean? was a POV chapter added I missed? Which maester or septon was present to witness & record it? If no testimony, HOW DO YOU KNOW? what is so unclear here? i am so confused. Y'all have lost your fucking minds.
@carzymos
i’ve always contributed his loss to two bad decisions: breaking his oath & sending theon back to the iron isles
i feel like if he hadn’t lost winterfell the freys might not have betrayed them
maybe i’m a psycho but the moment i learned that my ex best friend was sharing harmful rumors about my children, i’d have the whole family flayed and burned alive
no it wasn’t, because dyana wasn’t “added” to the show from nothing, the show just gave her a name
and we weren’t shown the assault, they told the story and displayed character behavior without a graphic violent depiction
if they were men, rhaenyra would have gotten the throne and the dance wouldn’t have happened
if rhaenyra was a man no one would’ve cared if she had bastards
if they were men, the story and circumstances would be impossible so this is a nonsense point
i know it’s a meme of “let women be feminine 🤓” but i do find it odd that they’ve chosen exchange those traits for more martial ones instead of having them coexist 😕
@gameofdragonz
The real villain is Rhaenyra, if she loved her siblings (since she’s 16? Years older than them) they wouldn’t have turned against her. But that’s what she gets for being selfish and greedy and irresponsible
if rhaenyra didn’t fight her children would’ve been slaughtered
if aegon didn’t fight there wouldn’t have been a war
phia & shireen giving stupid ass opinions
lemme mute that reply cause at the end of the day
#that
book got 2/5 stars from revisionists and that bitch ass drawing is ugly and grrm can’t write ✌🏾
the author had the blackwoods & brackens put aside their centuries old blood feud to oppose aegon, so i do believe the author made it clear which is the right side
@yorasheart
You’re literally arguing with the author. No side was right in the Dance. The dance ultimately ended in the Targaryen power effectively diminished, as well as the death of most of the dragons. There is no good side and bad side in the dance, this has been known since F and B
the disconnect between the writing, the editing, the acting is just insane
because the show was clearly trying to set up this in the early episodes & the editing before the dracarys implies it was directed towards aegon
Ewan Mitchell on if Aemond intended to burn Aegon in
#HouseOfTheDragon
E4
“I think that maybe Aemond would never have intended to burn Aegon, but it just so happened that Aegon was there tangled with Rhaenys and Meleys when he was on top of Sunfyre. It raises the question of
i love that the show glosses over this little tidbit
jaehaerys has a velaryon parent but no one questions his legitimacy as a white man
and yet, the greens have a problem with velaryon boys
@michaelscottfr
Bro had several dragons backing him up and still lost to fucking pirates, Daeron was the only dragon rider and he had a small dragon and he still beat every army in the reach
@reapermybeloved
can i say the entirety of dorne, especially making all of the sand snakes identical characters when in the books they were so vibrantly different
like their intros in the books are one of my fav parts
