I'd always wanted to get pics of south bound Shore Lark and Richard's Pipit
@spurnbirdobs
but always missed them, so wasn't expecting to get both within 10mins on my last morning there this autumn!
#flightshot
sound recording of the Richard's Pipit here
Thanks to
@Northpowergrid
who have agreed to fit diverters on this section of line in the next 42-days! 🤞 that will help to reduce bird strike in this area
Hey
@Northpowergrid
the electric power line between Easington and Spurn, East Yorks, kills SO many birds every year! This Water Rail had just crossed the North Sea for the first time and hit the wires! Any chance of some deflectors put on this line? Map shows the worse section
Epic days birding
@spurnbirdobs
today, huge numbers of Thrushes everywhere, Ring Ouzels in numbers I’ve not seen there before, Redwings wizzing around and small flocks of Bramblings constantly flying over 🔥🎸💯

What a legend! “I don't know if it is actually true, that "everyone makes mistakes" (in bird-identification), but I know that I certainly do, and not infrequently” making mistakes is the best way of learning! Killian re-iding Western-Semip
The highs and lows of Investigations work, this keeper was out checking grit trays when he committed this crime, imagine how routine and widespread this is? The RSPB need your support to carry on chipping away and bring raptor persecution to an end
