Yes, this exactly! When my husband and I had to put our cat Monkey to sleep we recorded her purr and got the visualization of the sound tattooed on our left arms.

Every doctor I’ve ever gone to has asked regardless if it’s relevant.
In fact, my most recent visits have all included the doc asking. These appointments were for: sinus infection, rash, allergic reaction, and knee injury.
@reallifesenator
I actually went and rated a professor first semester of grad school, also reported her to the university for not following my accommodation (very small request). She never created a syllabus, never graded a single assignment the entire semester, and didn’t give 1/2
@reallifesenator
written instructions for assignments. You had to watch an hour video where she rambled and during each 1 cried about her divorce to figure out what the assignment was. I begged her to type something up with instructions but she refused. I gave her a 1 😂 2/2

As a millennial who has been fighting for gun reform since they lost a friend to gun violence before Columbine, this isn’t our fault, don’t pin it on us for not changing something Boomers are responsible for.
They hold the financial, social, and political capital, not us.

The year my husband and I got married we underestimated how much having combined income would hurt us tax wise. I think combined we made maybe 45k? It took us a few years to pay off the 2.5k we owed in under payment. I feel an indescribable anger at the disparity.

Apparently those of us who can’t have children will never fulfill our destiny as women and never understand the meaning of life. Women like Katherine who make a totem out of motherhood are the absolute worst.

Not only did she not get her hands up, this is a forever fail for her. Having a press conference about this means every time someone googles her they’re going to find her being a transphobe publicly and this video.
I hope it gets brought up every time she interviews for a job.
@AngryBlackLady
The Cleveland Clinic may be rated as a world class hospital, but those of us who live here know what’s really going on. They didn’t stop people refusing to wear masks, they didn’t test. How many people in my city are going to die because their HOSPITAL didn’t protect them?!

I should share since everyone has shared their adorable Monkey’s with me. This is my favorite pic of Monkey. She lived a long happy life,

The Jesus from scripture hung out with sex workers and marginalized people.
But being honest, the most vocal Christians in today's culture would call Him a socialist and a terrorist. And the funniest part is that they'd be right. He died because He was a threat to the state.

The first thing I noticed, that and the actual knobs on the stove. Anyone remember the stickers that were on these things when we were kids? The whole thing was either primary colors or bubblegum pink and you had to pretend to turn everything on.
Kids these days have no idea

Parents cause attachment disorders. They are literally the result of abusive parents or significant period of institutionalization (long post birth hospitalization). You are the problem in this situation.
My mom was an abuser like you, haven’t spoken to her in 7 years.
Hi everyone. I want to share that I’m non-binary. For now I’m using she/they pronouns because sometimes I have she days and sometimes I have they days, but both are just fine with me. It feels really good to actually speak this out loud and stop ignoring the feelings. 1/3
@ashleemboyer
There’s so many of us that are left out for so many reasons. Part of my learning disability and ADD is that I don’t do well with verbal communication. I hear it fine, but struggle to process what I’m hearing. I watch classes with subtitles for this reason. 1/2

to. She told me respond to how it will improve my craft as a studio artist. Which was when I reminded her for the 5th time, myself and none of peers are studio artists, with 1 exception we’re not even artists, that’s it’s an MFA program in RESEARCH! 2/
@integerman
@reallifesenator
Worst part btw, the university decided the class doesn’t meet the requirements for the program. I have to retake it so it fulfills the requirements. At least they’re not charging us for it though and they exempted the people who wouldn’t have been able to graduate because of it.

Paul Newman lived down the street from my grandmother when she was little and he was in high school. She said she made him a valentine in school and took it to him because he was so handsome and her 6 year old self had a crush 😂

I mean I grew up solidly upper middle class for most of my childhood, doesn’t mean my mother didn’t abuse me and marry a man who did too.

Before I read the explanation I thought they were jewelry and said to myself “that looks sick!” (in a good way). Please don’t be self conscious cause 1) they look hella cool and 2) caring for yourself is the raddest thing you can do.

I don’t know what y’all are talking about, that’s the cat distribution system at work. You now have a male cat sir, he’s waiting for you to let him in because he lives there now.
@AngryBlackLady
It’s too cold and it’s hailing here. Also I vote in a church. But I did wear my BLM shirt and had to argue with the poll worker that it is not making a political statement and I can not be barred from voting there for wearing it.

Okay boomer.
And then you voted against every school levy and started voting for candidates that actively dismantle all those programs you built. You all benefited and then dismantled.
@integerman
@reallifesenator
Her assignments were bizarre on top of all the other nonsense. The class was “design research theory”. We had to read a book a week. One of them was called Trust the Process: An Artists Guide to Letting Go.
We had to write a “response”. I asked what I was supposed to respond 1/

I spent my every recess in detention the whole year because my hair was too short. It wasn’t even a religious school, it was for kids with learning disabilities and ADD/ADHD, they felt “conformity” was important to facilitate learning. I’m still pissed about that school year 2/2

Everyone I’ve known from Pakistan over the years has been kind and lovely and treated me like family. Pakistan is on my bucket list. I want to go visit friends who have moved back to their homes to be with family. This video really got me teary eyesd thinking of them.
I often get descendents of colonizers telling me to "Go back to Pakistan"
So I wanted to share a perspective never seen or heard about my homeland in the west.
Our countries are more than what the west paints them out to be. 🇵🇰 ❤

When I speak to someone face to face I need to see their lips move, it reinforces the sounds. This feature prevents me from using anything that helps. 2/2

How dare these people expose their child to wide variety of food instead of chicken nuggets and canned ravioli. And *gasps* they didn’t panic when the kid choked and kept the child calm instead of freaking him out! What terrible parents /sarcasm/
@Karnythia
I saved and planned and bought a house I could reasonably afford, so much so that if we had to we could make the payment on just one of our incomes (less than a full paycheck).
I feel 0 sympathy for this person. They have no clue what poor is.

Trying to explain what it’s like to have a malignant narcissist as a mother is nearly impossible.
They can’t fathom that a mother could not unconditionally love and protect her child. And when you tell them you’re NC they always act like it’s some massive injustice to her.

The black churches were a byline in an around the country wrap up. In total given maybe 1 hour of airtime total. Notre Dame has been given days of highlight coverage, interviews, responses, “expert guests”. The difference here is white supremacy, not what is more recent.

I label this abuse because if he’s proud of this behavior, proud enough to share it publicly, what is he putting his kid through behind closed doors? I would put money on some pretty terrible things happening in that home on a regular basis.

But also, flirting is fun and harmless (as long as everyone understands consent and boundaries). So what does it matter even if it was more salacious than it is in this clip? Flirting doesn’t mean something is going to happen.

When that campaign rolled out I still worked at Progressive. There was an internal contest where people submitted pics of themselves and their parents and they had to write up what they did that was like a parent. Some of the stories were hysterical.
Spent the past hour crying over the enormity of knowing we’re getting very close to needing to help our sweet Zim cross the rainbow bridge. She’s been my constant companion for the past 17 years. My heart is breaking.
Transparency time!
I didn’t get into a conference I wanted to speak at. It stings, but it doesn’t mean I’m not worthy or not good enough. Maybe those abstracts needed some more polish, maybe they didn’t fit the conference that year.
But it doesn’t define me and I’ll try again.
@HowtoADHD
I am begging them to do more studies that include AFAB and adults! Please do a study on sleep disturbance in adult ADHD.
Also that perimenopause and menopause make ADHD symptoms worse and that requires creative medication regimens.
@BethJ_Scott
@Missy_E36
As a teacher in a school with “high expectations” do you just not care that poor children exist? What would you do if a child didn’t have electricity at home (this is an actual thing that happens)? How do you handle for iPads no longer holding their charge? 1/2
I genuinely appreciate that I just saw

@JonLevyTLB
Wait, let me get this shit straight. It’s “too convenient” for people to not loose time commuting because heaven forbid they not think about work past working hours 😂
Attachment disorders shape the rest of a person’s life and the worst part is that they’re 100% created by parenting and often hidden from everyone by the parents.
You can go decades of your life not understanding your own behavior and not knowing why.
I really don’t like when speakers suggest spending nights and weekends doing professional development. This encourages people to give up balance and enables businesses to not invest in their staff.
ABA is rooted in the premise that at their core autistic people are incapable of agency and that autism is something to be cured instead of an expression of the natural diversity in human behavior processing 9/9
@GAkiddoc
@designmom
Add to that, many jurisdictions are using AI to “screen” for child abuse. These AI systems are always fundamentally biased and flawed.
@AngryBlackLady
I grew up in a Jewish home, became a Christian as an adult and joined a primarily Black church. I knew exactly what he was talking about.
Frankly being offended shows they’re more willing to listen to white supremacists than actual Black people 1/2

I went to a private school for 1 year. It had a dress code which I was prepared to follow. At the interview my hair was a short pixie cut, no one mentioned that the next school year when I started they would have a rule about girls hair being at least chin length 1/
Someone on Facebook called me fat. So I said they have brown hair. They responded with confusion and I clairifed I thought we were just stating factual things about one another’s appearance. Really took the wind out of his sails.
