@techpoodle @supertanskiii I have to pay corporation tax AND self-assessment! Still very tax efficient.

@spenley @LaraLewington It's a disgrace the show is ending. One of my favourite shows! And yet the BBC continues to support decidedly low-brow programming. A distinct dumbing-down of content. Best wishes for the future for the whole team.

@plumbers_urban @glynhudson @suburbanpirate @TrystanLea I only keep my flat at 16c. Hardcore Scot. I use a fan assisted radiator in the living room which takes that specific room up to 18c, which is all I need.

@dazaben1 There are many fools in the industry that think that high temperature heat pumps mean you don’t need to care about radiator sizing. Such idiots clearly don’t realise how heat pumps work. Low temperature heating is essential - I.e. large radiators!!

@OctopusEnergy That looks unbelievably amateurish. Oh, and take it from a heat pump service engineer and installer - they are certainly not “set and forget”.

@plumbers_urban I had to do the same with an Ecodan recently. Block of ice that took two hours to get the ice off. All the customer had done was turn it from holiday mode to normal mode. Thank goodness I’d encouraged them to leave the gas boiler in place (NRV from each source into flow pipe).

@joypaincity Phase change material battery. High energy density but needs a relatively high flow temperature to charge. Sod of a weight. Sometimes leak. Personally, I don’t think they’re worth the money, unless you have absolutely no room for a standard water cylinder.

@techpoodle Not trying to big myself up, but I do think it’s a curse of being quite clever (my boss used to call me “MP”, to denote “mad professor”). Oh to have an idle mind…

@glynhudson Absolutely. I work backwards with system design. Start from the emitter and make them as "big" as possible.

@sarah_go_green Forget Skye - too busy. But the summer isles are amazing. Or maybe the rest of the outer Hebrides South of Harris?

@BBCLauraMiller @RoddyWoomble They say: "better to have tried and failed, than to have never tried at all". But thank you for trying.

@glynhudson I'll soon be getting a smart meter. All electric (no mains gas), but heat pump, PV and battery. What comparison app/site is this, as I want to switch from OVO to Octopus as soon as possible.
