@julie_kelly2 A mob with clearly-expressed homicidal intent attacked the Capitol and attempted to interfere with government function. People are not being suggested for arrest based on a 'protest' but on attempted insurrection and related crimes.

@democracynow @leahstokes If we can reduce the size of the fossil fuel industry by charging an extraction fee, and reduce it faster by charging a higher fee, why add administrative costs and complexity, and why invite opposition, by introducing multi-billion-dollar subsidy programs for business?

Imagine if those girls had been born into a world full of problems, but where they could see people talking about the underlying causes & systemic solutions. Would they have developed a positive sense of their own future that would have meant Mohammad Anwar would still be alive?

@SarahKSilverman My impression is that you are a kind person with a big heart who likes to talk w/ ppl who you disagree with in hopes of learning something & understanding their viewpoint. Intelligent, with a big heart, you are. I think our sick society is causing demagogues to find an audience.

@BillPascrell Gov'ts shouldn't be involved in deciding what prices should be. If prices are too high, more people should start providing the goods / services that are hard to afford. (If prices are unfairly high, beyond whatever difficulty is involved in meeting market demand, this'll happen.)

@MaryLTrump Human beings are evolved w/ traits that make them ready to welcome a disruptive person to a leadership position when the society is unhealthy. This trait served the purpose of hastening the disintegration of ailing societies throughout history and before. More healthy neighboring

@antonioguterres Fossil fuels are like other kinds of natural resources: They should not be extracted at a rate that is faster than what most ppl think is acceptable No gov't has authority to issue permits to industries to extract resources or pollute air & water beyond what most ppl think is OK

@BandyXLee1 Transit police accused me of felony assault agnst them. Apparently, there's no requirement that they talk 2 witnesses / collect video records. I think the only reason why they didn't show up in court to continue the lie is that I was able to call a friend willing & able 2 get vid

@Forbes I'll buy $300 of gift subscriptions if you answer the questions above and say why you've never reported that we can end poverty & promote sustainability if we charge high fees to extract resources, emit pollution or destroy wildlife habitat, then share fee proceeds to all people.

@Planetary_Sec Focus on principles. If we demand a fair and honest economic system, 'leaders' will find efficient and fair policy for taking account of externalities.

@VivekGRamaswamy A commandment is an imperative statement of what one must do or refrain from doing. This is not that. What is your view on: "A responsible people create honest institutions"? Do you believe prices should honestly represent costs? How would you account for externalities?

@ClimateDad77 The reports of huge gov't subsidies of polluting industries are based on a failure of gov't to make industries pay in proportion to the harm they do. If U want to end hidden subsidies, join a call for high fees charged ~ pollution, depletion, habitat loss.

@GretaThunberg Businesses operate in whatever way is most profitable. If we want them to operate in a way that is sensible, we should demand that they operate honestly. That will require that they account for externalities. Make them pay for pollution and for depletion of resources & habitat.

@Billbrowder The idea of withholding payment (putting funds in escrow) until Russia withdraws from Ukraine sounded good. Even better would be to convert plane and ship factories to making Molten Salt Reactors. MSRs can be used to make fuel for cars, trucks and planes by taking C from the air.

@csymrl I think one example of disinformation is the claim made by NPR stations, especially around the time of fund drives, that we are being provided w/ necessary news, important information that we need to live better. Why is there no mention of systemic flaws in politics & economics?

@LakotaMan1 Seeing the comments here, it appears that few commenters are aware that indigenous people hunted many large mammals to extinction shortly after migrating to the Americas. (Did they not count as 'indigenous' at that time because they were recent immigrants?)
