The human race definitely did this, including many of the rich. Consumers don't get a free pass, we are the drivers. The rich are also the ones with the intellect and assets to solve this so it's worthwhile to stop the blind bashery and recognize/support the ones who lead change

If you live near the gulf at all youre be "in the cone" ~3 times in a year. Then you don't get hit. Over, over, & over again. You get desensitized to it, get more picky about evacuating over time. Then one day, it's actually going to hit and by the time you realize,it's too late

Yeah that's about right. Even with the turn being forecasted a day before that's already too late. I know someone in the area who decided to evacuate yesterday but couldn't find a hotel to go to within like 8 hours that wasn't fully booked. So they sheltered in place

The us has over a million truck drivers and 80% of them drive routes under 250 mi. Meaning companies can just drop a charger at the loading bay at the distro center and have a truck that never has to stop for fuel

Isn't a big part of the issue the amount of force that has to be dissipated? I imagine splitting it up by four instead of three is more realistic for the dampeners, especially for reusability since the typical crush technique isn't really ideal here
