10: IIUC, this is what Google replaced in the 90s and 2000s - individually/community-curated content. Google solved the scale problem then, but it dehumanized the curation process. Reddit has made curation scalable, but it sucks at making it searchable.

8: A big part of this is that Reddit is really hard for corporations (astroturfing and ads exist - but as someone that's been on both sides of these, I know how hard it is to do this well and consistently) in a way that it just isn't for corps on Twitter, Tik Tok, and Facebook

9: Another big part is the niche community aspect. I search for "best Mac to buy" or "best Mexican food in NYC" bc I can find these enthusiasts easier on Reddit (r/AppleWhatShouldIBuy, r/askNYC) than by searching for these questions on Twitter

I get what you’re saying and I’m building for web3 but it’s a lot less mass-producedly “free” than web2. Every action has a transaction fee for example, and micro transactions (on most L1s) may as well be nonexistent

NY hacker houses - I lived in one most of last year. Lots of smart U Waterloo kids. "Hacker house" sounds a bit silly, but it's definitely been one of the best choices I've ever made, to move from Virginia to NY to live in one

I've seen this point a few times and it is a fair point. But if qcomputing to the level of destabilizing BTC arises, it'd be much much more lucrative to attack traditional banks. Ex: just JPM's assets under management is $2.6T, more than BTC's entire market cap
