@AudreySuffolk My 96 year old Mum has carers. Going out to access medical services is an ordeal because of her poor mobility. For years she's had a condition which means having to know where the nearest loo is. Ageing is already undignified. Her safety and privacy should be respected by all.

@David__Osland I hear her too. My Jewish grandfather Fritz Berndt had been a doctor in Berlin. He came here in 1937 and retrained in Scotland. He was naturalised after the end of WW2 and worked as a GP in Bolton. He was an excellent doctor, valued by all his patients.

@AmandaPCraig @Soc_of_Authors I am so sorry to hear that. Stonewall stopped representing the interests of gay people so it was necessary to create the LGB Alliance. Perhaps it's time for a new writers group which not only advises authors on contractual matters but stands up for literary freedom of expression.

I had to do needlework and cooking at school, while boys did metalwork and carpentry. No awareness of child abuse. The clock is going backwards.

@PankhurstEM I'm assuming - perhaps wrongly - that the gym has a policy on inclusion and diversity. The gym should be contacting the person concerned, saying that if she can't treat others with the respect which its policies (and the law) requires, then she can have her membership refunded.

And there's never more than 1 woman at a time with experience of being abused/who is having a period/who has cystitis/who has come out with a small child to supervise. (We are barely part of the human race, after all.)

How sad is this? A 'community library' for South Gloucestershire. Hawkesbury Upton get a book swap in a community hall run by volunteers once a fortnight for only 2hrs! #savelibraries

@glosswitch @HJoyceGender I listened to N Sturgeon's speech. It reminded me of a headteacher saying 'I am not having breaches of the school rules. The juniors are upset.' What isn't clear is what these rules are. They seem to have been hurriedly made up, possibly by the juniors themselves.

@djandyhealey I conclude that there are many people who don't care about the well-being of those with less power in society. They simply care about the 'rights' of men to access sexual pleasure no matter what harm that does to women and children. That is what is being framed as progressive.
