Stewie is home. It is cancer, but it has not spread. His blood work was unremarkable. The x-rays showed cardiac insufficiency, he is in congestive heart failure and somehow not symptomatic. Not much can be done but make sure he is comfortable.

Mom is out of surgery and in an induced coma. She had some sort of blockage because of an infected kidney stone. Blockage has been bypassed, but she needs a second surgery for the rest of the stones. Thank you for the love 💙

All good news at then endo this morning. Cholesterol, white blood cell count, liver and kidneys all fine. A1C came back at 5.5%. Follow up scheduled for August.

I feel strongly that we should not be assigning positives to what can be a terminal illness, and is at best a lifelong disability. Celebrate your skills and joys sure, but don't assign their existence to diabetes.

We won ribbons! New title, Scent Detection Open, with the initials SDO can go after her name now. She had to do Containers, Interior and Exterior searches, with two hides and a distraction per search.

We did it, she won a ribbon! The first run wasn't so smooth. But we got it together for the second one and aced it. She did the tire both times, too. So excited!

TW - lab work
Blood work results are in. My ferritin is up thanks to supplements, cholesterol is good thanks to a statin, and A1C was 5.4% because I win diabetes.

Some people are so starved for attention they do silly things like tell lies.
I'm Type 1 Diabetic, after catching COVID-19 I fully committed to an ORGANIC only diet.
My results:
1) I do not take ANY insulin
2) My eyes increased sight from -3.75/-3.5 to -2.5/-2.25
3) Energy levels are higher than ever
4) I do not get sick-like at all

My LDL is down to 1.38 mmol/L (With a 20 mg statin). I got them to weigh me and I was 176 lbs (my goal is to hit 175). And my A1C was only 5.3%!

Edna is 5! So far we have accumulated titles in barn hunt, scent detection, tricks and agility. This summer we worked on dock diving and acquired points towards a Sprinter title. Love this little dog so much. Happy Birthday Edna, may there be many more years of adventures.

Tales from Facebook. Got into a conversation with someone who thinks being insulin resistant is only tied to weight. And simply would not hear that skinny people can also need gobs of insulin. I gave up.

We have an appointment with the vet at 11:40. There is something going on with his testicles, there is major inflammation. Not that he seems to have noticed though. Anyway, positive thoughts our way please.

It's probably testicular cancer. Tomorrow morning I drop him off for blood work and x-rays. With that information we will make a care plan.

Health Update. I had a heart attack last week and was dead for a little bit. My dog Stewie ran from the room to get my husband. I had a stent put in, and am now on the road to recovery.

Was once told that if I did diabetes better, I wouldn't need to pack low snacks in my bag. Doing it better may lessen the chances, but won't eliminate them. I think this account may be drawing from the same bank of faulty knowledge.

Type 1 diabetics do NOT need sugary or seed oil filled processed foods . They need a regulated amount of carbohydrates and glucose tablets on hand if poorly controlled

Had a bit of an emergency with Stewie. He was throwing up all of a sudden and then got weak and choked himself. I got his throat cleared, and him breathing again. He is fine. Now napping. But gosh. I'm not going to be sleeping for a while.

One of my father's sisters passed away this morning. She lived a long happy life, and was surrounded by family at the end.
