As someone who actually looked into this I struggled any references to nationalist use of Eureka pre-1980's. Very heavy reference to Communist and use in strikes, but hardly ever by nationalist groups.
Only been last 2 decades that Eurkea has become popular with Nationalists
It blows me away that communists fly the Eureka flag. Even crazier, Australian Communist Party members seemed quite taken aback this evening when reminded that the flag - and Australian labor movements - originate from strong nationalist sentiments.
