Royalists will hate it, but I was captivated by Spencer
#LFF
& its amazing performance by Kristen Stewart who must be a shoe in for next year's Oscar. She's in every scene for 110 mins. The film shows Diana as a free spirit which just doesn't fit to the royal life. Loved it.
Daisy Ridley gives the performance of her career so far in the wonderful The Young Woman & the Sea. The true story of Trudy Ederlie, who defied illness & a male dominated world in the 20s to swim the Channel.
If you want to be educated, look no further. This is magical stuff.
To the absolute idiot who decided to interrupt
@BFI
Aga Baranowska's obviously well thought out intro to The wonderful Ghost & Mrs Muir tonight with the words "Too much information", I say this - "keep your rude thoughts to yourself". Aga you did a great job & thanks.
Just had one of the most entertaining experiences in the cinema as
@edgarwright
took over upstairs
@ThePCCLondon
to introduce
@Winter
for Death Wish 3. Audience participation was encouraged as they watched the film with us & never have lampshades been cheered at so much! Magic!
Wow. I've just fallen in love with Jennifer Lawrence again after watching Causeway
#LFF
. This touching story of the friendship between 2 people trying to get their lives back together after different hardships is so well made & beautiful. So hope it gets a cinema release.
Maggie Gylenhall's feature debut The Lost Daughter
#LFF
is an accomplished film about a writer & how her past catches up with her on holiday. Huge turnout. But I had to laugh when
@TriciaTuttle
asked if she enjoyed a threesome with Dakota Johnson & Jessie Buckley! Comedy Gold!
@UKCovid19Stats
Last Mondays testing 813,693 - Positives 2762 - so 0.33%
This Mondays testing 1,218,037 - Positives 3568 - So 0.29% SO based on the amount of tests - its still coming down.
But the Bed wetters will love it.
Thoroughly enjoyed Korean Portmanteau Horror Comedy New Normal
#LFF
. By far the best of the cult section films I've seen. Very clever in the way the stories are linked to each other. Really worth trying to check out as this does not normally work, but it does here.
Not knowing the story of Jean Seberg outside her acting, i found the film
#LFF
fascinating. I'd go as far as to say its Kirsten Stewart's best performance.
@BBCSport
Well said Phil. Youve earned respect here by telling the truth. Everything is so damn PC these days, Cameroon just threw their toys out the pram. Our players were professional in their actions.
#LFF

One of the most visually stunning British horror films ever, 28 Days Later is 20 years old this year. I so remember that opening sequence as one of the most amazing pieces of cinema ever. Great to see it tonight
@BFI
with a really in depth talk with Danny Boyle after.
Such an enjoyable & Festive
@KermodeMovie
#MK3D
tonight. A whodunnit quiz, xmas singalong & couldn't believe my luck sitting 2 seats away from Taron Egerton. Got to shake his hand & congratulate him for Rocketman, my 2nd favourite music based movie this year.
I can now reveal what tonight's Mystery Film
@ThePCCLondon
was...
John Landis's Into the Night is certainly his lost film for many reasons. Over the moon to the reaction & amazed that we nearly sold out.
Thanks to everyone for coming.
Some films are best left unsaid. Barbarian
@FrightFest
is one of these films. I don't know what to say, I've never seen anything like it. What starts off as one thing, turns into something completely shocking. I will say it's so originally brilliant. So hope it gets into cinemas.
Gonna say it now
#LFF
would not be the same without the amazing
@BFI
staff & helpers working behind the scenes. I'll never forget the wonderful lady on the box office on members booking day who got me my tickets when all was going to pot. You were just my hero!
Never knew how much goes in to becoming a film projectionist & what goes into bringing these amazing films on screen. Fascinating workshop
@BFI
#FilmOnFilm
where we got hands on with celluloid! Thanks to Lexie & Peter. You are very talented!
@UKCovid19Stats
Look at the amount of Tests today - A record. So if there are just 6573 cases with all these tests done, it shows another significant decrease.
So...Tonight's the night!
Amazed as to how many tickets have been sold for my Mystery Film
@ThePCCLondon
. There will be tickets on the door if you haven't made up your mind.
In a polite way, all will be revealed soon! Trust me, youre in for a surprise.
See you later!
The gang from Sheffield are back! So pleased to be at the special preview of the new
@DisneyPlus
series The Full Monty tonight
@BFI
. Got to sit opposite the amazing Robert Carlyle as well. Can't say anything about it but from what I've seen, noone is gonna be disappointed.
@UKCovid19Stats
The last time we had this amount of cases & the amount was climbing like it is was around 18th Dec. That day there were only 390K tests, we had 532 deaths & 19000 people in hospital. Now we have 1 million tests a day, approx 35 deaths & 2446 people in hospital. Quite a difference
Too much to put into a tweet tonight after going to Westminster City Hall to listen to the debate on
@CurzonMayfair
. Below is my feelings on what I witnessed
Very sad, but I hope they carry on fighting
#savecurzonmayfair
I think tonight's gonna break me. One Life
#LFF
@BFI
was one of the most moving experiences I've had in the cinema - Ever. My hands are shaking typing this.
James Hawes's film is so deeply powerful. His intro said it all & to find so many of the survivors in the audience - wow.
Beer, programme, notebook, planning. A nice evening
@BFI
doing what I love - working out how much im gonna be spending
#LFF2022
! 26 films set in. I'm sure it will change by next week!
So pleased I spent tonight
@BFI
to see a preview of the wonderful Ali & Ava. It's the best new film I've seen this year. A masterpiece of British movie making, this story of 2 lonely souls who get together against all odds is just magical. Great soundtrack as well.
Tks to
@bfi
for this preview of A Guide to 2nd Date Sex tonight. Oh how i cringed & laughed! Plus it was a big surprise to have director Rachel Hirons joined by George Mackay & Alexandra Roach for an enlightening & funny Q&A. Its going on streaming channels soon, so check it out!
So. 91 films seen in the cinema in March (yes it's a record for me)
Best new films: The G, The Home Game, Invisible Raptor, Jericho Ridge & Monkey Man.
Best 1st time watch: Ninotchka.
Best Rewatch: Into the Night (had to be really!) Will never forget the 21st
@ThePCCLondon

HUGE MILESTONE! Tonight will be my 500th film in the cinema this year! And I'm at
@ThePCCLondon
to celebrate it with the full 3 hour directors cut of an absolute banger!
What can i say about One cut of the dead that hadnt already been said. But to see it again
@ThePCCLondon
with a audience who didn't know what to expect was just great.
The reaction was great and full of big laughs in a near sold out crowd. You must see it - now! POM!
Mahalia Belo's debut film The End we start from
#lff
is a beautifully shot debut feature. This survivalist thriller will no doubt have people comparing it to other films, but what makes it stand out is another amazing performance by Jodie Comer, who can do no wrong.
What a transformation from Brooklyn Nine Nine to horror. Outpost
@FrightFest
is a film that really hit home. The story about the effects of Isolation & how it affects an abused lady is the directorial debut of
@JoeLoTruglio
. It's an emotional & tough film & Beth Dover is superb.
Gonna be very bold here as i was never a huge fan of Cronenberg but
@twisted_twins
updating of Rabid is even better than the original.
@Vandiekins22
is bloddy fantastic & if the Oscar Academy would ever be brave enough to give this type of film an oscar nom, she should get one.
Here's a interesting question - Is Michael Mann's Manhunter a better film than Silence of the Lambs? It's close. One thing's for sure, it's a probably one of the most underrated films ever & tonight shown in a great 35mm print
@ThePCCLondon
courtesy of
@CinemaMuseum
. Top stuff.
A special message from Jodie Comer to celebrate release day. Experience

today, I'm in absolute awe of this amazing woman.
The courage she showed in her dangerous job was astonishing. Lucy Lawless's film is epic!
I'm here baby! So pleased to be back

Nice little rest now before dinner & Hamlet later tonight.
Let the fun begin!

@LGTHBlog
@ODEONCinemas
Suddenly I jumped the queue. Ive been told all Limitless members will be emailed as soon as they have updates. They did day we will be fairly compensated.
@cineworld
I love coming to Cineworld and i have 3 films from tonight until Tuesday. Please think of your wonderful staff and change your decision. There are many smaller films and classics out there that you can show. You are taking what social life we have during these bad times away.
It's taken 6 years, but I'm at the last independent cinema in London that I haven't been to. By independent I don't count Picturehouse, Everyman & the other 4 chains. I mean one off cinemas run privately. So I'm here in Finchley
@Phoenixcinema
to see The Wicker Man. A cracker.
Once in a while a film is so astonishing it leaves me speechless.
Luna Carmoon's debut Hoard
#lff
is one of those.
The story of a troubled young girl & a relationship with a man in her Foster home is a tough film with some disturbing scenes, but it's just so powerful. Fantastic
A nice early finish this morning to the latest
@ThePCCLondon
80s Mystery movie marathon.
4 absolute box office classics, 3 of which I hadn't seen for ages.
Love The Breakfast Club so much, a great way to end.
Silent, deadly, ruthless & revengeful, Michael Fassbender is fantastic as The assassin in David Fincher's The Killer
@BFI
#LFF
.
Full of great set pieces & completely told from his point of view, with some very dark humour, it's a brilliant thrill ride.
My 1st time visit to the new
@ChiswickCinema
tonight for this screening in
@LEAFilmFest
of The Con Heartist. The cinema is lovely, nice bar, comfy seats (like Picture House Central) & the film about a group of scammers was a bundle of fun & well worth checking out.
What have i loved about
@glasgowfilmfest
? So many things.
1/Great selection of films.
2/Fantastic friendly and Helpful staff.
3/The GFT. Say no more.
4/The City itself.
5/The atmosphere. Everyone is here for their passion- movies & are happy to chat about them.
Cest Magnifique!
@F_Descraques
The Visitor from the Future
@FrightFest
is a funny, quirky time travelling sci fi comedy with Zombies & crazy characters which was very entertaining. Loved it!
Here's a trivia question? Has a film first premiered
@FrightFest
ever won an oscar? After seeing No man of God tonight, the astonishing performances of Elijah Wood as Bill Hagmier & Luke Kirby as Ted Bundy surely must come into consideration. It's a riveting piece of filmmaking.
An absolutely packed downstairs screen
@ThePCCLondon
for the 80s Mystery Horror movie marathon. It had it all, werewolves, slasher, creatures, zombies & vampires. Very clever programming and a lot of fun.
Once in a while a film comes along that leaves you speechless & just like the lack of dialogue in the film, that's how I feel about Mad God
@ThePCCLondon
. Just 3 letters sum it up.....
WTF!
Its all true. One cut of the dead is the funniest film ive seen for years. I dont think anything will top it. Thanks
@FrightFest
My day is turning into a very good one!

learning about
#Cartoonsaloon
animation. Loved the shorts & The Star Wars visions short, Screechers Reel. But then...
Came The Breadwinner. Quite possibly the best animated film I've seen. Tks to
@FilmFanStevie
for recommendation.
Even though I was feeling a bit rough today I couldn't miss the Mad Max Allnighter at
@BFI
IMAX.
Being treated to seeing Fury Road in 3D IMAX was amazing. The first time I've seen a non Scifi film that works in this format. Absolutely eye popping!.
On guard!
Great to finally see the only Ridley Scott film I hadn't seen tonight
@BFI
. And what a ravishing spectacle The Duellists is. A really interesting Q&A after with composer Howard Blake (yes him of Flash Gordon & The Snowman) as well.
Everyone..Stop what you're doing & watch the greatest doc I've seen-ever!.
Never heard of Cymamde before but after this I cant believe how many songs I loved from the 80s & onwards that sampled their originals.
Hope it's released on DVD by
@BFI
soon. Can't wait to see it again!
So this is it. The 49th & final film in my
@glasgowfilmfest
quest, Its closing gala time, Murina. I'm so gonna miss
@glasgowfilm
& I have to thank Superwoman Allison,
@AllanHunter_GFF
& all the staff & volunteers that make this the best & friendliest festival. See you next year!
A stonking 80s Mystery Horror marathon
@ThePCCLondon
& great to see Maniac Cop & Chopping Mall on the big screen for the 1st time, & the boos for Weinstein in the credits of The Burning+to be in a audience where some people had not seen AWIL.
@jacekbroni
well done for surviving!
@BBCSport
Premiership teams DO NOT take the
#FACup
seriously. For them there is no money in it, its just an inconvenience. Im a admirer of Klopp but this is ridiculous. The winners should get a Champions League slot, then it might be different. Come on
@shrewsweb
win the replay!
Cant believe its just 1 week today before my big event
@ThePCCLondon
. Last time I looked I think nearly 100 tickets were sold but if you haven't decided yet, don't miss out on me making a fool of myself introducing a rare 35mm screening of a forgotten 80s film.
Sisu
@glasgowfilmfest
@FrightFest
Nazi destruction by a immortal Finnish gold miner. You couldnt make it up.
Its just totally bonkers and a whole lot of gory fun.
So, If you are in the London area on the night of Thu 21st Mar, come & see me make a fool of myself when i introduce a mystery film
@ThePCCLondon
to celebrate my 700 individual films in the cinema in 2023. Should be a laugh. No questions though!
@UKCovid19Stats
The press are saying highest cases since 9th Jan. True but there were only 575k tests that day and over 1000 deaths. Today 1.35 million tests and 120 deaths. scaremongering press again. Just saying.
All hail queen Emma! I did save the best for last!
Poor Things
#LFF
is a masterpiece.
A take on Frankenstein, never have I been so enthralled by the originality of a film. Its funny, gory and has an Oscar worthy performance from Emma Stone in a role so different for her.
After a good bit of thinking, my top 10

Having a great day
@FWFilmFestival
. A great talk & insight into
@Ray_Harryhausen
with slides from some of his artwork & stills was brilliant. Then to see the Full 104 min version of King Kong in its 90 anniversary just reminded us what an astonishing film it was for its time.
Just thinking about my wonderful 2 weeks
@glasgowfilmfest
(Which i'm missing already) & thought id put a few words down to show my love and appreciation for this great event which i will never miss again. Sorry for being a bit sentimental in my old age(!) but that's how i feel.
Cracking start to
@FrightFest
@glasgowfilmfest
with Let the Wrong One In, a hilarious blood soaked Vampire Comedy from Ireland. Love the family dilemma that goes through the film.
Hunt her kill her
@FrightFest
@glasgowfilmfest
was just what was needed for a morning wake you up film. A girl is pursued around a warehouse she is working in by masked attackers. A bit like Die Hard in a factory, it had a couple of great fun kills.
I urge you all to see the new
@itvdrama1
#strangers
starring the great John Simm & the wonderful
@EmiliaFox
when its transmitted in the Autumn. Just seen a preview of episode 1
@BFI
.Hong kong looks great & its a gripping thriller
After soaking myself for 3 hours (trousers still drying) I'm pleased to say I have everything
@BFI
#LFF
that I wanted. Thanks so much to the very helpful box office for your help. Here's my list. Now to try & look for a few extras!
If i see one new film better than Heroic Losers
@glasgowfilmfest
, ill be surprised. This fantastically entertaining story from Argentina of a bunch of people who plan a job to get back their money which was stolen by a evil nasty gangster is what we go to the cinema for. 5*
