The fact that academisation has been sold as an innocuous 'levelling up' of education when in fact it has been the stripping of public assets (essentially given away to private individuals) is an utter disgrace. I really hope this government wakes up to this disgraceful legacy.

on the BBC this morning, it is time for my regular rant. It isn't just about recruitment of teachers, it has to be about the RETENTION of them. Recruit as many teachers as you want but if 50% are gone in 5 years you've still got massive problems.

All this left the campaign “completely deflated,” and wondering how this could happen under a Labour government who, in opposition, was reported two years ago saying it “will not support forced academisation”.
