You know what happens when you cycle a 10 yr old (£400) bike every day up a hill and back?
Once every few years you have to replace all major parts for max £200 and that's that, you're done!
Bicycles are very sustainable things and the bill is usually way less than this 👌 1/2

We've charged the battery of this bike only 75 times in 3 years. It has taken us to nursery, school, hospital, shops, swimming, friends, and even to Wales.

It's not you! You shouldn't have to be "confident" in order to cycle. The road should be designed to enable you to cycle and other road users (drivers) should look out for you.

Why are local authorities providing EV charging infra before cycling infra (incl on-street secure storage)?
EV charging and cycle hangars are similar in the sense that there are costs upfront but after that the user pays.

These two incredible machines were our main mode of transport for over 6 years. We don't own a car.
One of our kids has additional needs and the box bike was her safe space.
These bikes have been out on the school run, on holidays, to hospitals, shops, libraries and friends.

An e-bike makes a massive difference to feeling safe in traffic. It means I can move at the speed of motorised vehicles when leaving a junction. I don't want to have to feel this way though. I want safe spaces for cycling where I don't have to mix with fast moving traffic.

Not a lot of mind blowing infra but lots of quiet roads (really quiet!) and lovely coastal cycle paths, showing that you don't need much in rural areas to enable cycling

Cllr posts about emissions based parking charges and people go mad!!
Avg charge per hour has remained the same for around 34% of customers driving a less polluting vehicle. This is £1.20 per hour.
Others see an additional charge per hour of 11 pence per hour.
£0.11 per hour.
Can confirm that Bath’s new emissions based parking charges are easy to use and seem to work as planned: you just put your numberplate into the machine and it calculates it for you.

Longtail e-cargo bikes like Terns are not sold in the Netherlands as bikes to transport kids (at least, I've never seen anyone use them).

We did it! Very close call because train driver was sure e-bikes weren't allowed on trains, but platform staff convinced him another colleague had ok-ed it 😅
