@CrankyFed Jesus said, “pick up your cross and follow me.” The cross is a symbol of our allegiance and servitude to Christ, accepting any suffering which may come with it. Christians who worship the cross need to examine whether they understand the faith.

@Weller_Teller @Fivefour3two1 @unraveledfth @riecker Paul, Peter or John would have said something about it. Paul said the loaf represented us believers. You’re just off base and lost the plot.

@Fivefour3two1 @unraveledfth @riecker The loaf symbolizes the body of Christ, which is his church. Paul couldn’t be more clear. He was an apostle, so even if Ignatius truly believed this, an apostle’s words reign supreme.

@unraveledfth @Fivefour3two1 @riecker Ignatius himself recognizing the spiritual symbolism and isn’t calling Christians to eat Jesus’ actual flesh.

@JesusisLord3713 @unraveledfth @TemAleSaEliTa @riecker And yet no one was lapping up his blood or gnawing on his flesh when he died on the cross. His mother and John were right there. Mary and John testify to this day that this was symbolism.

@unraveledfth @Constan97930530 @riecker Well said. This is why it’s important to read scripture yourself instead of letting the Roman Cabalistic Church “interpret” it for you.

The reason we know the faith was passed down is by scrutiny of scripture. There were so many copies made and early Christian writers who referenced Paul’s letters, we know for a fact they were held to be the Word of God. The writers you keep referencing were not and never have been respected as the word of God. You be the judge. Should I obey God or men?

@gew984757 @JoshuaH29403304 @riecker Ignatius could have been presumptuous and came up with some of those rules in his own wisdom.
