5 hours at A&E & counting…
Working on Response & this is the 3rd call I attended, resulting in a patient being sectioned for their own safety - meaning 2 Response cars off the road for the shift.
All 3 calls attended were MH related, a common theme tonight.

I've enjoyed most of the 1200+ hours I've worked since & everytime I kit up I feel as excited as I did a year ago, I hope that never changes!

I was at a job with LFB last night & 1 of the things that impressed me was how their Guvnor got them all together at the end & had a team debrief right there & then.
All the senior managers explained the decisions they made and what factors made them go for those options.

It should always be done anyway especially when dealing with a subject alone but making it official definitely reinforces it

How can you spend tens of millions on a product that has no backup servers or resilience?

Turns out he was drunk & had a sore leg😑
Medically cleared at scene and straight to custody.

Experienced my first sudden death today and I have to say it wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be considering it's the first time I've ever seen a dead body, I even stay away at open casket funerals.

joining the job in my 20s, not even a peek in a casket at funerals.
I saw three within my first 6 weeks - two appeared to be natural deaths & one was a suspected murder.

1271 hours volunteered in 2021:
1175 were operational (front line). 1002 were on response teams.

4 of us including myself don't even live in London and will be commuting upto 2 hours each way to help protect the people of London 🙏🏼
Last night my Probationer got covered in blood giving emergency life support.
So much so, he didn’t realise it was all over his hands & arms when he ran back to the car to get more kit.
He’s not from London, but he saved a Londoner’s life last night. ⚫️🔵⚫️

Suspect arrested two knights ago for FTS, possession of very large hunting knife, PWITS Cannabis, Drug driving & other offences.
He was bailed yesterday, & today I see him driving another car.

We, as police officers, will generally always put ourselves in harms way to protect others if there’s a reasonable chance we’ll succeed.
However, we shouldn’t be forced to face significantly higher risks than those that we’re trained or equipped to deal with to an extent.
