@matvelloso @nytimes The real punishment would be to make them replant, and ban any approval on building on the tree location. So you lose the development potential of that land forever. If you wanted to be really heavy, you’d also make that ban transferable so they lose future value too.

@jcdelcastillomv @anothercohen $160 cleaning fee and you’ll still get a bad review unless you do 90% of the cleaning yourself. Last one I stayed in I had to launder the sheets and towels before I left. Not just bundle or put in the machine, but wash them. It’s such nonsense.

@dieworkwear Used to live in a walk up above an amazing restaurant in NYC. Owner would quite often give me a container of sauce & naan on my way upstairs if I’d had a bit of a night out. Amazing hangover cure the next day & base for most things I’d cook the rest of the week.

@KetuAlbrecht @mollyfleck No, it has over 200km of public beaches and access points in the harbour alone. add the ocean beaches and you’re closer to 250. Add the Hawkesbury and your over 400. Australia has an incredibly small amount of ‘private’ beaches. “Uninterrupted” is irrelevant vs access.

@hormiga @JMatt_62 There’s patterns in it. Your analysis is right though: highly gendered work that was never valued enough. My grandmother was a legal clerk and taught me some. There’s less variation than you think. But still heaps. I use it for certain words when note taking to this day

@drvyom Most would be leased. Many purchased through a SMB. It’s a tax write off if you do it right. But also: yes, people are spending far too much on cars no matter the arrangement. Many approaching 50% of household income. The numbers from a leasing provider I worked with are scary.

@cremieuxrecueil Not spiciness, *spice use* (# of spices in a dish). Makes sense really: Japanese dishes tend to focus on a key high quality ingredient. Cultures using non prime cuts, etc. making a lot of curries or similar use more spices.
