Answer in one word - terrible! No woman (or man) should have to live a life like Syeda's. People need decent work for a decent standard of living, physical and emotional security and some leisure. One can admire Syeda's grit to survive but it's just bare survival, barely human.
What does the life of an ordinary working-class Indian look like? @nehadixit123 has written a book about an Indian woman whom we all know — and may not be able to recognize. @juggernautbooks

Plus deep control on release/delay of data and research reports which could actually help to make appropriate and better policy.
Introducing the Deep State in India, also known as the Babu-Industrial Complex Policies which defy explanation, or logic, can often be attributed to the Deep State e.g. taxation policy in India, or the deep control on much needed technology for becoming Viksit Bharat (e.g. banning of Bilateral Investment Treaties which gas led to a collapse in FDI).

Poha and seviyan upmarket are also good. Can be quite nutritious if you add chopped veggies, nuts etc. Use Bambino brand of seviyan for the upma.

@mnwsth IITD has a STEM mentorship program for school girls; girls come from SOSE schools, KVs - many from underprivilged but as aspirational backgrounds. Confident, knowledgeable, hungry for a good education; wanting to make the best of the opportunity of being mentored at an IIT.

Amazing (& essential) initiative. Many women in STEM at IITD - faculty, postdocs, PhD students - have narrated inability to attend conferences (or go for postdocs abroad) due to caregiving responsibilities. Led to loss in career advancement towards desired res/acad positions.
Applications are open for our Caregiver Travel Grant 2025! Apply now for a chance to receive flexible funding to cover caregiving expenses while attending an in-person scientific conference! Apply: 📅 Deadline: March 31, 2025 #WomenInSTEM @Momademia

Is it something about the tough Tam-Bram work ethic - embodying masculinity? Obvious they don't see the don't see the world beyond their own noses. N & S are heading huge enterprises with a diversity of employees-do they never meet them to understand challenges common folk face?
The 3rd such wonder who was the forefather of Sarvashri Narayanmurthy and Subrahmanyam was TN Seshan - known as "Alsation" hands down the most effective CEC India has ever had.I was trained by him in Madurai and because of that connection, he was welcoming and hospitable to me. He never tired of telling me that he read files until 2 am so he was on top of things the next morning and ready to take decisions. He never needed briefings or presentations so a lot more work got done. He always said, that he never allowed family or personal matters to encroach on his 18 hour - no holiday work schedule. I could not stop myself from saying," But Sir, you don't have any children to think of. I have three." He did not reply but after that he was less sharp when he spoke to me.
