A guy wrapped in toilet paper chanted "LETS WATCH THE MUMMY" over and over before the movie began. The audience booed him and he was mock-challenged to a death match by an audience member cosplaying Darth Vader. After the credits rolled, everyone was chanting "MUMMY".
To all of my older Star Wars followers, and mutuals what was it like seeing this on the big screen back in 1999?

They were so mean (especially Brisn DePalma) they literally made Lucas cry when he was showing them rough cuts of Star Wars.
Re: Coppola and Scorsese coming out against Marvel Films and comparing them to “theme park rides”. Something tells me they were way less critical of their buddies/contemporaries Spielberg and Lucas who essentially popularized that genre.

Wow! Some people don’t believe my MUMMY story! Happened on opening day (not a midnight premiere) at the Sherway Gardens Cineplex Odeon in Etobicoke, Ontario. There was also someone dressed as a gold fish, but I don’t think they were going for a Mon Calamari. Wild screening!
