A little over four years ago, I began writing what would become my first novel. I confess I had hoped to have it out in the world by now, but the story turned out to be bigger than I expected, and the learning curve far steeper. I am so much closer now than I ever was before.

@LaocoonofTroy This was inspiring. We grew up with movie stars who had been more than that; who had lived varied, vast, often hard lives before acting. You sensed *that* in their work. H’wood now produces largely actors whose only experience is watching other actors. I miss “real” fiction.
