My wife, Pam (FLOP), read me the oath of office last night while I placed my hand on the family Bible and repeated after her. We did this 12 years ago when the kids were smaller and I was starting my first term. Proud to serve Parma in my fourth term and continue making progress.
When six fire departments arrived unexpectedly at UH Parma Medical Center this evening, they weren’t bringing patients. Instead, they were bringing their love. In fact, they parked vehicles in the shape of a heart to show frontline health care workers they are appreciated.

It’s back! The Parma sign was taken down early in the year for maintenance and painting. The stay-at-home order prevented the sign company from working on the project until businesses reopened. It was reinstalled this week.

This afternoon, Ward 3 Councilman Mark Casselberry, Ukrainian Village leaders and I joined the owner and staff of Breads and Beyond Bakery when the bakery donated $4,000 to Ukrainian humanitarian relief. All the proceeds are from the bakery’s sales of Ukrainian flag cookies.

Due to Parma schools being closed today, the Splash Pad will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. If the schools close again this week, the Splash Pad will reopen. The Splash Pad will also be open on the weekends in September. Stay cool everyone.
It's official! Chick-fil-A held its ribbon cutting this morning. Ward 5 Councilman Al Divis and I joined owner Sheilla Lienerth (a Parma native), her family and employees for the outdoor event. The restaurant at 6676 Ridge Road is only open for drive-thru service at this time.
Pumpkinhead joined me at Mario's Barber Shop when I proclaimed today Baker Mayfield Day in Parma. The shop is collecting supplies for N.C. Hurricane Florence victims. Bring donations when you stop in for a haircut, beard trim or shave.

Don't worry. The "arma" is coming back to the sign. Residents should not be concerned about the script Parma sign being removed from Zielinski Park. It was temporarily taken down for scheduled minor repairs and will be reunited with the letter "P" next week.
We have plows out all day and tonight. Over a foot of snow and blowing. Snowing all day. We have over 500 miles of streets in the 7th largest Ohio City. My street hasnt been plowed yet. Understand the frustrations.

I am thankful to serve Parma for another term. I am thankful for my colleagues, friends and family. And I am thankful to spend the day with Pam (a.k.a. FLOP), Jack and Molly. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your loved ones today.
City workers made sure headwalls were free of debris, and street sweepers cleaned remaining tree limb debris on streets impacted by Wed.'s storm. We checked creeks and streams to make sure they are running freely and lowered State Road water basin. Service crews are on standby.
New sign. New school. Today is the first day for St. Anthony of Padua students at their new location after an arson at their school caused extensive damage. We wish the students the best as they complete the academic year at St. Bridget.
