A tough and challenging day in the Mournes as Police 46,
@PSNINMDown
and other emergency services responded to 3 separate incidents. In strong winds we managed to airlift one male out but sadly the two others had died. Our thoughts are with their loved ones. Sgt A
Commiserations to the losers of last night’s hide and seek championships held in County Down. Two arrests for numerous offences following burglaries in Downpatrick and Larne. It’s dark, you can run and hide in trees but we can still see you 👁

@PSNIMEADistrict
Spent this morning doing some really great training with dog section. Had the opportunity to meet ’PD in training’ Ziggy for the first time. Cuteness overload 😍
Just a wee update...back in February a male was arrested for ‘lasering’ our helicopter. Court proceedings have now finished and he was sentenced to 3 months in prison.
We had a report of an usual object in the sky today. We checked it out and can confirm there's nothing to worry about. That bright yellow thing was just the sun!
While we were out we took advantage and got a few photos over Belfast.
How to handbrake a helicopter…..
Two aircraft on scene in Killyleagh earlier, assisting
@PSNINMDown
and HM Coastguard rescue teams search for a missing person along the lough shore. Located by Police 46 and now receiving medical care.

We said earlier we would keep an eye out for Santa and we saw him over the Mournes. Now look what we picked up on our thermal camera over Belfast. Hopefully all the boys and girls are getting ready for bed....he's on his way!
Merry Christmas everyone!
The night is yet young and we haven’t stopped- airlifted a casualty from the Mournes area, great work from the doctor and paramedic on scene. Direct from there we located a vulnerable missing person. ⛽️& back helping more colleagues!

Congrats to our flying cousins,
@AirAmbulanceNI
,on their 1st Anniversary of Operations, saving lives around our wee country. Look forward to working together for many more years

Sgt A👏🏼🤝🤛🏽
For all the boys and girls who aren't in bed and sleeping yet, here's the latest picture from P46... He's on his way. (Looks like Rudolph at the front with the shiny nose.)
Don't worry, we will keep a good eye on him whilst he's over Northern Ireland.
Merry Christmas.
We took advantage whilst over the North Coast yesterday to get some photos. Mixed emotions to see empty beaches etc at this time of year but glad to see the advice is being listened to. Thank you!
Keep safe.

Casevac from between the Hare’s Gap and Ben Crom today in P45 - our pilot managed to get landed on the only suitable spot in the valley. Fantastic work by Mountain Rescue getting the gent concerned down to the back of the helicopter, broken leg and all. Get well soon 🚁👍
We were tasked by
@MCA_media
earlier to assist the search for 2 paddle boarders who were in distress off Ballintoy. Police46 responded.
@PortrushRNLI
located them and they were winched to the safety of dry land by the Coastguard helicopter, Rescue 199.
Apologies in advance for the noise tonight if we are called to your area - be assured we’ll be working hard with our colleagues
#keepingPeopleSafe
and won’t be there just for the craic! Whether going out or having a quiet night in always be considerate of others in your actions
Unfortunately last night Police 44 was repeatedly 'lasered' whilst over north Beflast trying to assist
@PSNIBelfastN
keep people safe. Why? We don't know either, but thankfully 2 people were arrested and will now have to answer for their mindless actions.
Sorry to those impacted by our lower flying 🚁 in the Colin Glen area,but 👌👍👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 to our
@PSNIBelfastW
friends for getting dirty and wet hunting deep in the forest & arresting a male for dangerous riding etc and seizing a 🏍- 1 less danger to all!

When a child goes missing, we are as keen as anyone to help and P46 is the ideal tool to assist. Our high-tech camera picked out this particular wee fella in Banbridge and, working with
@PSNIABC
and pro-active members of the public reunited him with his family.

After completing a task earlier today we made the most of being close to the Mournes to get some more mountain flying training done. Always good to keep skills sharp…and of course take advantage of a good photo opportunity.
A big thank you to all our followers, which today passed 7500. This is a short video from earlier today showing a typical landing in challenging conditions in the Mournes from both perspectives. I'm the one who stayed warm inside!. ConD.

After completing a task with our colleagues
@PSNINMDown
the helicopter crew were tasked via the Mournes to the Craigavon area to assist colleagues
@PSNIABC
where there was a report of a scrambler driving dangerously in the area. Following some good work the male was arrested.
Last night, whilst out trying to help keep people safe, one of our aircraft was targeted repeatedly by someone with a laser. Yet again, after good work between the crew and
@PSNIBelfastN
the person was successfully identified, arrested and will now be in court in January.
😡🤬When out supporting
@PSNIBangor
with a serious incident an individual endangered not just Police 45 but also those living in the area by repeatedly hitting us with a laser. Thanks to our colleagues they’re being dealt with. Sgt A

This evening we were tasked to
@PSNICCGDistrict
to assist in the search for a missing person. After quickly locating them the situation was so significant that we landed to allow an observer to go to their aid. Thank you to the member of public who offered help on scene.
Out and about during dusk giving top cover and pro-active patrolling, see if you can have a guess at where. Something not quite right about the fourth picture - see if you can see what and why! 🤔

With all this lovely weather, we thought we would share a few shots of the aircraft with our followers🚁☀️📷 think mine on the left is better than the Sergeants attempt......😉
Whilst assisting colleagues in
@PSNIBelfastW
search for a missing person we were subject to repeated laser attacks from the North Belfast area. A local crew was directed to the address and a male has been arrested. He will be interviewed and most likely have a court date soon.
Police 46 were over Ballymena this evening when a male shone a laser at them. Thanks to excellent work between Police 46 and
@PSNIMEADistrict
one male was arrested for a number of relevant offences and is currently in custody.

🤬😡😡🤬Fantastic work by
@PSNIABC
to introduce a Darwinian Award winner to the custody suite. While supporting your local police who were targeting drug dealing activity in North Lurgan, we were attacked by a “gentleman” with a laser. You can run, but....Sgt A

We have had quite a busy day so far today. We've been across quite a bit of the country so far. On our way back from a task earlier we got this photo. Anyone know where it is?
We were low and loud over Holywood earlier. Helping our colleagues locate a vulnerable person. A positive ending we located them. Now reunited with their loved ones.

P45 up over Whitehead earlier, searching for a missing person. Hopefully we didn’t interrupt the peace and quiet of the first day of decent weather too much. Glad to report that the gentleman concerned was found safe and well by our friends on the ground.

We went on a training flight in the Mournes this morning, I don’t think we’ve ever seen the hills so busy! We certainly surprised a few runners! Whatever your reason for being there today, a big well done from all of us for being so very motivating! Stay safe and take care.
Sharing the views from today’s essential Mountain training in the Mournes so ,if needed,we’re ready to conduct life-saving CasEvac’s. Our pilots skills are day to day

Police 46 was involved earlier in the search for a missing 9 yr old in East Belfast - at low level due to the search area and deteriorating weather, so thank you for your understanding. Since located safe and well

this morning over Antrim. Not only emergency services and health workers working today, so grateful to all the volunteers with Community Rescue Services all over our wee country. Merry Christmas to all.
In case you missed it……this evening’s double rainbow.
Formed when sunlight is reflected twice within a raindrop, creating a second inverted bow (we got that from Google…..)
We assisted colleagues in
@PSNINMDown
earlier with a missing person. Once they were successfully located we took the opportunity to do a bit of training by way of an ad hoc landing in the Mournes. As you can see the weather wasn't too bad at all!
Despite the strong winds Police 45 responded to a request from our colleagues
@PSNIABC
in attempting to locate a vulnerable elderly gentleman in the Lurgan area.Thankfully the male was located by a member of the public and was returned home safe and well.

Out this evening working with our blue light colleagues at the scene of an serious RTC on the Moyarget Rd, Ballycastle. Airlifted one seriously injured person to Belfast. Our thoughts are with all those affected.
@PSNICCGDistrict
Tonight, we put our earlier training to good use, carrying out a night 'ad hoc' landing to assist
@PSNINMDown
and
@NIAS999
with a farming incident. Casualty airlifted from the scene with
@NIAS999
onboard & conveyed to the RVH. Good work all round.

Anyone know where?
P46 about to carry out its annual 'special escort' task. Radio check done with 'Sleigh 1' to make sure everything is ok. All good.
Not long until Santa is overhead. Boys & and girls, make sure you're asleep before he gets here.

Merry Christmas!
Morning chores completed with (L->R) P46 on line, P44 getting a wash & P45 ground running to ensure air worthiness! If needed, we're ready.

All pilots have a checklist before they go flying. Santa is no different. He asked us to check his for him. We checked it once, then we checked it twice. We can confirm Santa, you're good to go! Fly safe. We will keep an eye out for you.
