Portstewart Promenade is closed due to structural damage caused by adverse weather.
Please avoid the area as there is no access to vehicles or pedestrians.
Please be advised that the road is expected to remain closed for some time.
Police are asking people visiting the North Coast this weekend to ensure they park their vehicles in a responsible manner so as not to cause obstructions to other road users or local residents. Please also be patient as there may be tail-backs due to the volume of traffic.
We will be conducting patrols across our beaches and popular beauty spots today.

Police are currently at the scene of four security alerts in the Coleraine area, following the discovery of four suspicious objects.
A number of houses have been evacuated and diversions are in place.
Detectives investigating the murder of a boy in Limavady have confirmed the victim was 17-year-old Blake Newland.
Six males have now been arrested and remain in police custody at this time.

Officers from our Tactical Support Group have been helping promote road safety.
During our patrol today we spotted a man using a hand held mobile phone while driving along the Moyarget Road, Ballycastle.
He was issued with 6 penalty points and a £200 fine.
Our officers seized a large quantity of suspected drugs during a large proactive policing operation across the Causeway Coast and Glens area earlier today, Friday, 3rd May.

Detectives investigating the murder of 17-year-old Blake Newland in Limavady on Friday, 2nd February, have been granted a further 36 hours to question four males who were arrested.
A total of six males remain in police custody at this time.
Police have been conducting checkpoints within the district.

A 17-year-old male, arrested by detectives from the Terrorism Investigation Unit, investigating a report that a number of masked and armed men entered licensed premises in Dungiven on Friday, 19th January, has been charged to court.
A man, aged in his thirties, arrested in Coleraine yesterday (Sunday, October 3) by detectives investigating suspected criminality linked to the North Antrim UDA, has been released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

Our detectives have charged four men following two recent commercial burglaries in the Portstewart and Toome areas. They are due to appear before court tomorrow, Monday, 13th June.
Detectives investigating damage to an ATM machine and the theft of cash from a filling station in the Articlave area are appealing for witnesses and information.

A significant policing operation remains in place this evening, Sunday 25th February, due to an ongoing security alert in the Dungiven area which began on Saturday 24th February.
**** ROAD CLOSURE ****
The Hillside Road, Ballycastle is closed in both directions due to a fallen tree. It is believed the road will remain closed for most of the day until the tree can be removed by Road Services.
A 19 year old man is currently in custody following burglaries at the homes of two older people in the Edenmore Rd area of Limavady on Friday. Many thanks to the member of the public who assisted in apprehending the suspect until officers arrived.
Officers from CC&G were ‘FREEZIN for a REASON’ today at the launch of the Polar Plunge Portrush. The plunge for Special Olympics Ireland takes place on 3rd of December at 1 PM. Come along and take a dip. It’s a fantastic cause. Even Santa turned up.
Today Officers from Roads Policing clocked one of the NW200 riders at a mighty 190mph on the Atlantic Road!
Please remember however, that these are professional riders on closed roads so please do not try this yourself!

Two men, aged 20 and 36, arrested following a report of an assault in the Eglinton Street area of Portrush on Wednesday evening, 3rd January have been released on bail to allow for further enquiries. The investigation continues.
O11 Tactical Support Group assisted colleagues in Causeway Coast and Glens today with duties at Coleraine Showgrounds for Coleraine v Linfield. One arrest was made for GBH and Disorderly behaviour after an officer was struck with a bottle.
