Thank you to everyone for all your help and support and who shared our appeal to find missing teenager 15 year John Paul (JP) Smith. Sadly, we are no longer searching for JP and offer our sincere condolences to his family and friends this evening.
Today we donated all of our found and retrieved bicycles that were unclaimed to Cycle Recycle Newry who recycle old bicycles back into the local community.
The Police Search and Rescue Team were out today transporting Domiciliary Nurses round Dromore.
This meant that the Nurses could make the appointments, focus on providing care for the vulnerable, and not have to worry about the driving conditions.

Police dog Daphne today helped us locate a missing gentleman in Rostrevor.
Members of the local community and our helicopter assisted in the search too.
Folks, from midnight 3 February the penalty for using a mobile phone while driving will increase. If you are caught using your mobile phone whilst driving, the fine has increased to £200 and also 6 penalty points.

Three men were arrested and two ATMs recovered in south Armagh early this morning. The machines were stolen from Dundalk in ROI overnight. The suspects were pursued to the border by An Garda Siochana. PSNI officers were then able to establish their location and make the arrests.
When you come across a car in a field on its roof just before finishing a night shift and not sure if there is anyone in it.
Con W waded (some would say fell) through a shuggh and across a bog to check for occupants. Thankfully no one was in it.

Two men and a woman were arrested in Newry today after a black Audi car rammed a police vehicle. The car matched the description of a car seen leaving the scene of a burglary earlier this morning in Belleeks. All three remain in custody at this time.
Policing a border area means that we often work closely with our colleagues and friends in An Garda Síochána. Their loss is our loss.

Our Major Investigation Team detectives have launched a murder investigation following the death of a man aged in his 60s in Kilkeel. A woman was also discovered badly injured in the Newcastle Road property. A 25-year-old man has been arrested. More here:

After a protracted search involving helicopter, dog and various Officers on the ground we have 3 males detained and in custody for burglary and various motoring offences.
We are worried about this lady, Vivien Botos, from Rostrevor who has been missing since yesterday.

Officers on foot patrol came across a suicidal male on the wrong side on the rails on a footbridge over a main road. Building a rapport,1 officer got close enough to get a chance to grab hold of the man, saving his life.

Last weekend we responded to reports of scramblers on the Mournes.
Two riders got themselves a warning under the road traffic order, caught again and the machines will be seized.
No one should be using scramblers or quads on the Mournes or Forestry Service land.

These ducks decided to wing it and try and cross a main road during rush-hour.
With the help of staff from a nearby hotel, we managed to get them across to the other side.

A locket contained a lock of hair from her son who passed away some years ago.

South Area Burglary Team patrolled the Newry area today.
We arrested two males for possessing an offensive weapon. We seized a large amount of cash from a male who is believed to be involved in criminal activity.
We will continue to try to disrupt criminals whatever way we can!
Ourselves and Mourne Mountain Rescue Team were tasked to a female who had fallen and injured herself in the Mournes this evening.
After a steep (and mucky) climb, the casualty was located.
Thanks to the skills of MMRT, she was brought to the bottom safely where she will be...

Thanks to the member of the public who reported a drunk male collecting his Chinese and getting into his car.
We met him just as he arrived home and he is enroute to custody for drink driving and other driving offences.
Never, ever drink and drive.
Detectives from PSNI Major Investigation Team have charged a man (23) with murder. He is due to appear at Newry Magistrates tomorrow, Thursday 6 August. The charge is in relation to the murder of Patrycja Wyrebek at her home in Drumalane Park, Newry on Sunday, 2 August.
