Wrong. The historical consensus is that Stalin was a dithering despot who regularly fell into defeatist moods. Thankfully Zhukov and the rest of the Stavka knew how to manage/ignore his contradictory, knee-jerk orders while holding him up as a figurehead of the Soviet state.
