responded to a report of a heavily intoxicated male chasing two children on Port Royal Rd. It was determined that the male was their father, and they were fleeing because he was driving while intoxicated. Suspect was arrested.

VSP cars don’t have rear dividers, as they’re generally not needed. VSP either transports the suspect in the front seat where they can maintain an eye on them or calls a local unit for transport.

This is the second food truck that caught on fire in the past few months on Constituion Ave. My contacts with US Park Police tell me that most of these trucks are run by organized crime groups that steal credit card information and aren’t inspected by DC Health.

responded to a residential fire in the 4700 BLK of Leighfield Valley Drive. One person was injured and four dogs were unfortunately found deceased. Mutual aide was provided by PWCDFR.

Units are on scene of a house fire in the 4700 blk of Leighfield Valley Dr in Chantilly. The fire is under control. One civilian transported with non-life threatening injuries. No reported firefighter injuries. Sadly, four dogs were found deceased.

AFAIK, only the SOD Traffic cars (limited number) had vehicle LPRs. DC was relying mostly on stationary LPRs on trailers and posts.
Only data I’ve found is dated from 2012 which said there were 60-65 in the city.

Also a valuable point to consider if the amount of resources a major traffic incident that could’ve been potentially avoided by traffic enforcement takes up. A fatal collision is going to take up way more resources than a traffic stop.

Because the issues are mundane compared to mass shootings. You have over a thousand people going to bars and clubs in Clarendon with typically 5-15 people actually being arrested for mostly minor crimes per weekend. Arlington isn’t gonna miss out on their tax revenue for that.
