@BenZeisloft So you’re basically saying that the only way that you, as a Christian, can stay away from these yourself is if Caesar (government) bans it? You basically just said that if a law is required for your neighbor to stop these, that same law is required for you to stop these.

@NathanielJolly Nowhere in the Bible is marriage even sanctioned. Sure, it discusses husbands and wives, but it doesn’t present any sacrament of the relationship, nor does the Bible mention who can be married, nor to how many, other than overseers. You’re wanting your opinion to be Scripture.

@JohnSmi83051707 @RevDaniel There is a distinction made in the Hebrew between the אִישׁ (man) and the זָכָר֙ (male). Martin Luther, and others interpret the זָכָר֙ as a young male, making the passage against pederasty, not homosexuality. Luther used the word knabenschander in 1Cor 6:9 to reflect this.

@theB4NP 1/ Sin, hamartia, is literally an archery term in the Greek, meaning to miss the bullseye. To determine what it means to miss the bullseye, we would have to define what it means to hit the bullseye.

The greatest misconception in the history of Christianity is that God is external and distant from humanity, rather than all of creation being in form within the Father.

@TomBuck The Greek word translated as don’t ‘teach’ in 1Tim 2:12 is didaskein, and can also be translated as don’t ‘admonish’, which Paul follows with not permitting ‘authentien’, which means ‘self-armor’ or prep for battle against male peers. Female & male overseers are to get along.

@hankgreen @StvnAd @amybwang I would say it’s ridiculous, but then I just watched 49% of voters in GA vote for Walker, so I’ve got to come up with a stronger word than ‘ridiculous’ to describe some people.

@JesseHughes_ @applesacres We actually have a Scriptural example in Acts 17:14-34. Paul, even though troubled in spirit, did not go throughout Athens destroying statues, but used them as a catalyst to teach the gospel. We must stop being judgmental and have a more Christlike spirit.

@NathanielJolly That’s because Nathaniel needs the short synopsis instead of investing the time for the real story. He treats Scripture the same way. I’ve asked him several times on his view of τις, ἀρσενοκοῖται and μαλακός and he has yet to Google what they mean.

@iAmHisChosen @AndrewTDraper @JoelWBerry Joel Berry in that tweet actual said “the black church… find themselves cut off from a theologically and intellectually sound theology.” That includes every black Christian. The man is a racist.

@costiwhinn If more Christians understood the Greek, they would realize that ἀρσενοκοῖται and μαλακός (1Cor 6) have been shown to be debatable in their interpretation. Same for the wording of Romans 1 & Jude. If the Greek has many interpretations, we shouldn’t be holding doctrine to one.

@Eric_Conn You mean he’s not like Lamech, Abraham, Jacob, Moses, Gideon, Elkanah, David, Solomon or any of the others that are in the words of the unknown author of Hebrews, “a great crowd of witnesses”? David had at least 8 wives, numerous concubines yet was a man after God’s own heart.

@SandraK87933686 The Hebrew doesn’t use the word mankind. In Lev 20, the Hebrew says, if a ‘mature man’ lie with ‘zakar, which is typical of a young male’. This was the practice of pederasty where an older man would have young male lovers. The Didache backs this interpretation.

@AleMartnezR1 1Cor 15:22, “For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive”. The word for ‘all’ in both cases is the same conjugative Greek ‘pantes’, which reflects each side being equal: everyone dies / everyone is made alive. It also says ‘in Christ all’, not ‘all in Christ’.

@RandySevy Do not confuse salvation with redemption. Salvation is, is continuing, and shall be. Redemption just is, for all. “In Adam all die, but in Christ all will be made alive”.
