I think it would be easier for critics of Dispensationalism if it was only Scofield's notes keeping the teaching around. The greater problem for them is that the Bible, when read literally and without a systematic framework, is naturally Dispensational, in my opinion.

The legacy of the KJV cannot be ignored. The Authorized Version was the Bible that ushered in the Golden Christian Age in the West. If you understand Biblical preservation, the acceptance of the KJV is absolute proof that God's words are the Traditional Text, not in Aleph or B.

Baptists historically are independent, or unaffiliated, or what ever terms helps you think of autonomy. So is the Church of the Jesus Christ as it's described in scripture. There is no basis for a Christian hierarchy beyond the local assembly. Christ is the head of the Church.
