I transitioned over about 8 months. First I cut eggs. Then milk. Took me a while to cut cheese because of pizza. Then I was just a “home vegan” for ages but carried on being vegetarian whilst eating out. Then I finally went full. A few months between each stage.

I live in NZ and can assure you it had a lot to do with the govt. Shut the borders and locked down super early (around 100 cases total). Every employed person in the country was given 585 dollars per week for 12 weeks, so nobody felt any pressure at all to go back out to work
