A friend of mine arrived as an asylum seeker, had photographic evidence of the threat to his life and had the support of family in the UK.

Council tax is the most stupid tax in Scotland by a mile.
We tax houses based in what they would have been worth in 1992 (even if they didn't exist then). The most expensive houses are taxed at the lowest rates.
It persists only because of political inertia and it needs to go.

I'm also hearing that this is the big rule change under consideration for going to Labour NEC and then conference – plus also changing the trigger ballot system. The next TULO meeting will be interesting.
