Where's your balance point? This is something you can check, in two minutes, right now or later at home tonight. No need to get to a range or indoor facility to get better at golf!

Golfers, you should probably be setting up with the weight toward the front of the arches of your feet (almost toward the balls of your feet). A brief 🧵 on this to explain why.

@MichaelBreed, re: … We found that a golfer’s best chance of getting up & down is hitting the ball closer to the hole, not intentionally trying to miss in a “good” quadrant. They make a lot more putts 4’ downhill than 8’ up.

RT @iacas: Two of the last few slides from my presentation to the @ASGCA last year on “angles” in golf course architecture:

@kevinjpmurray Yep. 1. You don’t need to come in from the left with a sand wedge. 2. Aiming for the left side of a 30-yard wide fairway is silly. 3. Moving over a yard or two on the tee changes the angle minimally. If it helps psychologically, great, but… materially, meh.

Nearly ten years ago we wrote “The Rule.” Proud of the fact that kids and pros and everyone else in golf continue to benefit from the information and guidance.

20+ foot deep bunkers are a pretty dark Shade of Grey!

Very happy to have given a presentation at the @ASGCA’s annual meeting earlier today in Milwaukee. Quoted @AndyTFE, but the fairway on the 15th at SS Red is still narrower than most player’s Shot Zones. But I think you’d have liked the last several slides!

Thank you! Tough to believe it’s been nine years. We’ve heard so many things from so many players about how many shots they’ve shaved or how much more effective their practice has become.

@LowScoreWins Such a great book. It may be time for a reread now that my swing is at a point where my course management is becoming more important. I loved it the first time but I was such a mess mechanically that I couldn’t truly benefit from it.

Oh my. I just read this: "Putting may be one of the best parts of my game. Practice it WAY more than anything else (would be dumb not to - roughly ½ the strokes are with 13 clubs, and the other ½ are with that single club... makes a lot of sense to obsess practicing it).” 👎🏼 👎🏼

@Fit_For_Golf @rossmacleodputt Tour pros have 9 tap-ins per round. That’s about 12.5% of their strokes.

This was NOT a test of skill but a test of luck/randomness. @Mission_Inn is not to blame, the @NCAA tournament committee who set these holes is. Round 3 was later canceled for unplayable course conditions. At one point, **7** groups were on the sixth hole, 5 waiting to tee off.

Shameful what the women competing in this year’s NCAA Division 3 championship are dealing with today. Watch this video.

What do we think of the proposed rollback? That it doesn’t really affect us. Golf strategy will remain largely the same. Coaching/instruction will not change. Very little of what we control (or teach others to control) changes.
