Today it's a Department of Human Services in Beaverton, Oregon, but in the 90's it served as a North American office for the Double Dragon developers, Technos. And they never took down the "Technos Bldg" signage
People weren't lying when they said Combo Breaker was *THE* major tournament to go to. Being there in person for the first time, it feels like a much more pure celebration of all the different fighting games and communities out there than EVO.

Henry Kissinger dies, and then the Samurai Shodown RPG finally gets a full English fan translation. Unprecedented. ANYTHING can happen in the next 24 hours
Sagat vs Chun midscreen infinite in Street Fighter The Movie arcade, can start the combo off EVIL EYE
point-blank MK Tiger Knee, standing HP (3 hits), MK Tiger Knee, MK Tiger Knee, side switch, MK Tiger Knee, MK Tiger Knee, side switch, etc...
A Japanese collector posted some videos of unreleased Neo-Geo games running in NeoRageX, including Crystal Legacy, the prototype version of Breakers. The videos have since been deleted but they've been mirrored online.
This is the most cursed arcade cabinet I've seen in a long time
Bubble Bobble converted to some kind of multi-game thing, running KOF 2003 here... note that you only have two buttons. Yup, perfect for fighting games!
@Twitch
Had this update for a while and it's one of the worst updates I've ever seen on an app.
I don't want it to start auto playing a random channel when I open it. I don't want TikTok scrolling. I want to see my Following list when I open it. Why is that so hard?
@cubik_msk
also used in Fighting Vipers's attract mode intro, although it cuts off early in-game.
the track is literally called "Fallen (An' I Can't Get Up)"
There's a romhack in HBMAME called SF2 CE "Communist Edition" where Zangief can spin the stick before the round starts and kill the opponent with fireballs before they're allowed to move. Literal 10-0 matchup. Where's my £100
The 'legendary' 10-0 touch of death that old arcade heads definitely talked about in hushed terms is in fact a rom hack of the SNES game that's now being referred to as a beta version of the game
Beta version's are not rom hacks that came out over 1yr after the real SNES game🤦
Just a reminder folks!
Are you going to
#EVO
this weekend? Were you in attendance two years ago in 2016?
If so, don't forget to pack your old lanyard. Why would you want to attach your new badge to anything other than the greatest lanyard ever printed?
I've overheard so many conversations of people really getting into the Ice Cold Beer mechanical game. This doesn't surprise me at all since Ice Cold Beer rules, it's just really funny seeing FGC folk get hype over it
The little-seen arcade adaptation of Bonk's Revenge has a female voice that will announce your initials if you place in the daily top 5 high scores
just don't type in forbidden words like ASS or SEX
Street Fighter x Tekken - 4th
Mystery Game - 9th
Super Street Fighter II Turbo - 17th
Mystery Game 2v2 - participation sticker
Been having a great time at my first Combo Breaker
In Data East's little seen arcade basketball game Hoops '95, there's a voice sample on one stage that says "I know how good you are".
This is taken from the opening FMV of Minnesota Fats: Pool Legend on the Saturn.
CPU Barts whiff punishes my normal, double teabags, and illegally walks forward after the round is over and then cuts off a jump with his win pose, making him stuck floating in the air
the levels of disrespect here are off the charts
Practice Super Turbo and play online a lot = don't get out of pools
Don't practice TMNT TF, never played a single match online = win the AnimEVO side tourney
???????
fun fact - the 25,000,001 score on Centipede that Billy Mitchell was so proud of he made a shirt to commemorate it, was later revealed to have been done using a banned trick that involves trapping the centipede on the side
I uploaded a 2-loop clear video of Bongo to YouTube and the creator of the game found it in the comments and thanked me for introducing him to MAME as he had no idea about these emulators. Wild!
also I am laughing so hard at the CodeMystics port of Garou fucking deleting the DotEmu port from existence. That is exactly what those shitty DotEmu ports deserve. Finna buy this now just for doing that
on November 11th, 1997, Shock Troopers was released to arcades on the Neo-Geo MVS.
The greatest arcade vertical run & gun ever made IMO, it never got the attention it deserved. It remained arcade-only for many years, although ports can now be purchased on consoles (thanks to ACA)
@GuardianMC
KOF Neowave gives you 10 seconds (after the mode select anyway) to find 3 characters, and all the portraits are black & white making it harder to tell who's who when you're in a rush
There's an obscure typo that's been persisting on the internet for almost 25 years, and it's time to make it clear where that typo came from, and why it keeps happening.
What the hell is "Operation Ragnagard"?
so apparently the source code for Midway's NARC has a list of what changed between revisions
and I am loving the seething pettiness George Petro had for the higher-ups
People who reply to everything SNK posts for KOF 13 Global Match to demand more DLC characters for that game are the most clueless individuals on the planet
My other feline companion of the last 17 1/2 years, Ricki, passed away today. She lived a very long life and I'm grateful for all the time I got to spend with her.
Tweets in chronological order on web has been fixed –– the option to switch your Home timeline view to latest Tweets first was removed for some of you on web. We’ve fixed this and the option should now be available again for everyone.
just found out that the Grinkers Grand Palace arcade in Eagle, Idaho is being forced to permanently close because of issues with their landlord during COVID.
This fucking sucks. Grinkers was one of the coolest arcades I've ever been to, with 250+ games under one roof.
