@BothwellLane @5thWave_tcronin Someone outside of the current powerbroker network for sure. Democrat or other outsider. One party states always tend towards corruption. Doesn't matter which party it is.

@p_feif80 There are chestnuts that survived the blight scattered throughout the Appalachians. Makes you wonder would would have happened if they hadn't gone all out logging them when the blight first came on the excuse that the chestnut was doomed anyhow.

@cowbroker "Corn and soy shall be produced in the manner preferred by the farm bureau and at a profit." 11th commandment in I state politicians' Bible. Nothing in there about cows though

@LouieDN I sold one to USFWS and have no regrets. No grazing restrictions, but can't be hayed until after July 15 (end of prime nesting season). Process to get it accepted can take awhile, so wouldn't count on having the $ available for land payments first few years.

@sanegrain The new jobs were of course non union. There were strikes, but eventually people either crossed the lines or were replaced. Jobs that had provided a middle class standard of life no longer did, so a supply of cheap desperate labor was required...

@AnikVJoshi Great news! They must really value your contributions to the British East India company's working group on corporate ethics and roundtable for sustainability.

@AnikVJoshi Service jobs tend to be part time with minimal benefits and wage. Manufacturing jobs are more likely to actually provide a wage that can support a family. Replacing skilled, often unionized, positions with $15/hr no benefit 30 hr a week jobs has not been good for society.

@TornadoNate Rights come with responsibilities. When we focus only on our rights, without considering the responsibilities that accompany them, we wind up with a selfish and infantile society.

@robertoblake @wanyeburkett A lot depends on who you are working for. Being self employed or working in small companies where I know and respect the owners putting in a lot of time and effort is no problem. When you are just a cog in some huge machine....not much point.

@CBKimbrell Look at the data from Mauna loa and historic relationship between atmospheric CO2 and climate. The problem is real. Unfortunately, a whole lot of the proposed solutions are complete scams.

@TornadoNate In SD state level politics Republicans in favor of the pipeline were soundly defeated last election by Republicans opposed to it. ( we don't have a functional D party) That is the one hopeful sign I see. Otherwise all the big money favors this boondoggle.

@6Shittalkerffs Medics should have seen he was too far gone to save and just called the coroner. Ambulance trip therefore wasn't medically necessary and his widow should get the entire bill....getting ready for my job interview to replace him.

@_TheMizzouTiger Agree, but make sure to get rid of biofuel mandates and subsidies as well. Let's see how much corn and beans a free market actually wants.

@josephgraff3 @PlsntVlyFarmer So instead of an independant owner/operator who is a member of the local community a hired crew shows up a couple times a year and is gone. No kids in the school, no members for the fire dept, no customers for the local businesses...

@TornadoNate That is a lot of tree pulling. What kind of trees? Any safe way to burn the area? Follow up with grazing and spot spraying tree re-growth?
