@Michael_Haz @Sports_Facts365 @UWMadison @NIH The percent that can go to administration is already capped at 26%. There has also been some misinterpretation of what a 60% rate means. It’s IDC/directs, not IDC/total (so, up to 37.5% of the total costs for 60% IDC).

@KadyMuhammad1 @pcedwards @Gingerroot775 @ArmandDoma I mentioned other funding agencies and the timelines it takes at a minimum to receive funding. Labs plan out proposals years in advance, so stripping away funding without notice inherently means that personnel will be let go.

@pcedwards @Gingerroot775 @ArmandDoma Where would the alternative funding come from? Grants from other funding agencies? Those have submission deadlines (and it takes a month at minimum to put together a competitive proposal — <20% are funded) and are reviewed. It’s a minimum of 6-12 months before you get the money.
