Introducing Super, the personal storybook!
Story time with my son is my favorite time of the day. The books are getting repetitive, so I made him a personal universe of stories where he's the main character. Soon, your kids will have one too!

GPT 4 is a really great replacement for myfitnesspal. I simply tell it what I’ve eaten and it’ll count calories for me and tell me what else I should eat to meet my daily intake. Pair this with a workout log and you could have an all in one coach, sports psychologist and
It’s taken months to get here, but finally at the point in my game’s development where the work is deeply interesting and engaging. The grind has been long and often boring, but so worth it.
I’m moving uncomfortably fast using Claude. My internal bureaucrat is yelling at me “no stop, something is wrong, slow down!” as I write an entire app in a single day.
@SebastianRoehl
You can tell the reviewer that you need to release the app to address a fix and will address their issue in the next release. They have a standard protocol in place for bug fixes.
@Petertaughtme
Incredible onboarding. They cherry picked the best parts of Noom and applied Chinese ecom style sales tactics. The sad thing is that their promises are effectively lies without knowing calorie intake — so all customers likely never achieve the promised target goal.
Just added multiple node export to my stable diffusion editor.
Here's a demo that generates an entire children's storybook in one click.
What else should I make with this?
I’m so late to the game, but I finally installed Copilot and built an entire iOS app with its assistance. In the past, it would have taken me 2-3 weeks to make this app. I finished it in 2 days 🤯
@bria_sullivan
It’s pretty easy. They only made it complicated recently with auto layout and variables, but you can ignore those for the most part. The real power is reusable components via instances.
The most destructive programming habit I'm trying to shed is writing code for requirements that could potentially show up in the future. I'm definitely getting better at letting go, but the perfectionist ego death is real.
The ability to paste in an obscure python stack trace and have GPT-4 tell you exactly where to go in the Google Cloud dashboard and which buttons to click to fix the issue will never ever get old.
ChatGPT is like having a really smart friend who is willing to explain everything and anything in great detail and write a python function or two to help it all make sense. For me, it’s the most impactful computer interaction since the iPhone.
Working with UE5 is both a rewarding and humbling experience. Things I did in 50 lines of code in Unity takes 10x more effort and requires a near-complete understanding of the engine. Hey, at least the source code is accessible!
Congrats
@jasonoliver
and
@brianjcho
on launching Patron!
I invested in this first fund because games were an important source of community, fitness and creativity for me during the pandemic. These good parts of gaming will become a part of our daily lives.

Life is so good when you deeply believe in what you’re building and when it comes together better than you could’ve anticipated. This is what it’s all about.
@SebAaltonen
It does surprisingly well at adjusting the output when you point out its mistakes. I’ve been able to get most really incorrect things to turn out how I would write it, if I spend the time coaching it with feedback.
@bria_sullivan
Depends on how complex your subs are. If you're doing most of the feature gating on the client, StoreKit 2 is super simple. It gets more complex if you're trying to sync sub state with the backend, which is where RevenueCat makes a compelling time saving pitch.
Seriously jealous of the kids starting their careers today with these super powers, never having to waste their lives on writing code generators and DSLs. Just create value and ship.

@malpern
@cursor_ai
I setup a Logitech smart action to save current cursor file, flip to Xcode and hit cmd r on button press. So simple and you’re in Xcode when it errors.
@PikumaLondon
The udemy style course paradigm incentivises course creators to use all verticals possible to drive sales, which I bet is an immediate turn off for community mods in forums that get a lot of courses (ie. game dev). It's worth figuring out how distance your brand from this.
@Lykon4072
Does SD3 have the same RLHF bias wrt identity personalization? SDXL was super hard to get custom identities consistent without additional work.
@knowclarified
Personally, I've found working at a company will teach you how to get good at working at a company. Starting a company will teach you how to get good at starting company. The latter just more risk and a need to be brutally honest with yourself and relentlessly prioritize.
@brianjcho
Disney’s track record of handling game studios is pretty abysmal. I’d have little faith they’d steward that IP any better than they have done with Star Wars thus far.
🚨 | BREAKING: Daniel Ricciardo will reportedly replace Nyck de Vries at AlphaTauri effective immediately, and take the wheel next week in Hungary.

razer and nvidia driver updates are the worst. I lost thunderbolt monitor output a year ago because of a driver bug they have marked fixed
@jfischoff
they shot themselves in the foot showing Large and then releasing Medium. Like a bad movie release with the rumors of an epic 4 hour directors cut that never made it past the execs.
Some bug investigations take so long they end up feeling like research itself, riddled with the same uncertainties and unknowns. But in the end the issue is always discovered and the solution is often so simple it feels stupid. Bringing this insight back with me into research.
@thekitze
Haha, they clearly have never worked with UE. Making any change outside of the runtime tools requires lengthy compile times. Next.js is so fast and easy in comparison.
@bria_sullivan
That makes a lot of sense. Seems like you could kill it with straws and other cosmetic upgrades. I get so many animal crossing vibes when customizing my boba shop.
@YangCLiu
Has to do with the hardware decoders on Apple chips only supporting H.265. Most of the innovation with cloud streaming is improvements to WebRTC and the AV1 codec, which is not hardware decoded on the phone.
Seems like a lot of generative AI companies are building the proverbial game engine without making the game. The game is the purpose and the refining fire. Build the game.
@alexgraveley
Totally agree. Have rewrote my project 3 times this year. Intuitively, just seemed a lot better to make fundamental abstraction changes than to keep tacking on fixes. The outcome has always been simpler and easier to work with.
