To be fair, I think the fancam spam is mostly for people who are already kpop fans. I can't see anyone getting into kpop through a fancam, but I could see a kpop stan becoming interested in a new song or group because of one.

I mean c'mon, credit where credit is due. The only reason he was able to start his own company was because he's one of the most successful Korean artists ever. If anything, it's JYP's ego that prevents him from seeing potential in young artists who do things differently than him.

This. Americans spend a LOT of time demonizing and dehumanizing not just Koreans, but Chinese and many other races of people that we struggle to understand. It's much easier to think of people in bad conditions as evil, instead of actually asking why these things happened.

they mention about 900000 times in the story that as long as 2 people exist, they will fight - 100% annihilation would simply lead to conflict restarting on a smaller scale. eren's plan is illogical and fixes nothing, AoT makes that VERY clear. if you can't see that, it's on you

To be fair, I don't think "because it's controversial" is ever a bad answer. Sure, NMIXX could have chosen the palatable "Tank" for their title, but what's the fun in that? Anything to get people talking. No such thing as bad press, after all.

They do that for a reason. Take a moment to seriously consider the implications of dissecting a corpse. Med students have to do this numerous times a year. Making jokes is the only way anyone can stomach that. Just because they make jokes doesn't mean they aren't grateful.

This is my biggest issue with kpop communities that I've experienced. Either people take criticism too personally, resulting in the inevitable flame war to not be worth your time; or the criticism that does exist doesn't go any farther than, "it was good" or "that sucks."

I'm going to guess you've not heard much metal. Where's the love for SOAD, RATM, Deafhaven, Bolt Thrower, etc? Plenty of metal seeks to promote healthy politics and empathetic world views. Angry music doesn't equal hateful music (though there are certainly outliers)

haven't seen s2, but sydney is just perfect in s1. she's reserved and perceptive, yet confident and collected. this is consistent in every scene. sweeney absolutely nails cassie's character. OP's clip feels a little more.... messy. it doesn't feel as defined as it should be.

I can't lie, the tiktok comments are almost starting to annoy me. Not the meaningless one line responses, those are simply forgettable. It's the comments that seem to actively attempt to misread the review. It's so consistent, it might as well be intentional.

Depends on how popular they are, and for how long. Many groups spend years paying off trainee debt. Even once that's paid off, success isn't guaranteed. Some artists and groups hang on by a thread nearly their entire career. Not much in the way of transferrable skills either.

if you want to be productive in opposing spaces, you should be there to learn. that doesn't mean X or Y take is automatically correct, but by listening first, you naturally develop a better understanding of the discussion. but the incessant "um akshually ☝️🤓" is just so tiring.

But... that's the whole point. The death was unexpected and out of nowhere, just like most deaths in real life. It's the story of Ellie dealing with the trauma of something she never could have prepared for. She didn't get to say her last goodbyes, and neither did many of us.

admittedly true, but songwriting will always age better than production quality. plenty of classic albums sound terrible on a technical level. meanwhile, music production is constantly improving and changing - even very lazy mixes today can turn out rather competent.

I'll be honest: I don't care about NFTs if it means that some game devs finally get a reasonable working environment. Workers' rights are FAR more important to me that the possibility of accidentally maybe supporting NFTs by proxy.

i have no issue with the tour being cancelled - the girls have been working since debut and could probably use a break. all i wanted was something from management that said as such. "hey, sorry but we ran outta money/nobody bought tickets/everyone was tired" would've been great.

Not to nitpick or anything, but you mentioned BTS specifically and I just saw a recent story on them. They're now big shareholders in their own company, which should mean good things all around. Hopefully we'll see some other corps follow suit soon.
BTS is described as the label's "main artist" and each member is a "creator with great producing skills." Big Hit say that by members owning the stocks, they expect the partnership between the two will grow stronger both as an artist and a creator.
