@high_fideIity @hauntgf he was criticized for not properly understanding (or otherwise misrepresentating) the lyrics. overall however, he gave the album a positive review and a 7/10 score.

@pannchoa I really don't like this photoshop. Jiwoo already looks pretty and is perfectly healthy! Plenty of idols at JYPE have already been forced through rigorous, extreme dieting. Can't you leave this young girl alone?

@kjetweetstuff @loreortiz2169 @theneedledrop To be fair, I think the fancam spam is mostly for people who are already kpop fans. I can't see anyone getting into kpop through a fancam, but I could see a kpop stan becoming interested in a new song or group because of one.

@dies_irae_svh @Bcp_GabSamus @rehvion "objectivity" does not exist in art criticism. An "objective" review of Bloodborne would be, "Bloodborne is a video game. You play as a hunter that can wield weapons. There are enemies and bosses that attack you. The game has environments that you can play in."

@taeehyunv @jaybboyyy I mean c'mon, credit where credit is due. The only reason he was able to start his own company was because he's one of the most successful Korean artists ever. If anything, it's JYP's ego that prevents him from seeing potential in young artists who do things differently than him.

@replyfrog @AfonsoAzevedoo @Comrade_Roman_ This. Americans spend a LOT of time demonizing and dehumanizing not just Koreans, but Chinese and many other races of people that we struggle to understand. It's much easier to think of people in bad conditions as evil, instead of actually asking why these things happened.

@ribohwa Well said. I know many will want to continue to support the group because of the other members, but this case will set a precedent. If you let this one slide, you let the industry know that bullying is tolerated. It WILL happen again, if we let it.

@EHEEHEHEEEHE @VBrisingr @seeourwood @FDsignifier they mention about 900000 times in the story that as long as 2 people exist, they will fight - 100% annihilation would simply lead to conflict restarting on a smaller scale. eren's plan is illogical and fixes nothing, AoT makes that VERY clear. if you can't see that, it's on you

@asianjunkiecom To be fair, I don't think "because it's controversial" is ever a bad answer. Sure, NMIXX could have chosen the palatable "Tank" for their title, but what's the fun in that? Anything to get people talking. No such thing as bad press, after all.

@ChelseaMSpeaks @PoliticalAnt @Toolie__xo They do that for a reason. Take a moment to seriously consider the implications of dissecting a corpse. Med students have to do this numerous times a year. Making jokes is the only way anyone can stomach that. Just because they make jokes doesn't mean they aren't grateful.

@lancastrr_ @chaimsawman That was assistant director Kazuya Tsurumaki who said that. Personally I don't think the Christian imagery is meaningless, but it's also not necessarily a core element.

@MaryHadALilC @RinIsBestBoy @kpopalypse This is my biggest issue with kpop communities that I've experienced. Either people take criticism too personally, resulting in the inevitable flame war to not be worth your time; or the criticism that does exist doesn't go any farther than, "it was good" or "that sucks."

@sluttycthulhu @seeourwood @FDsignifier having empathy for the villain is not absolving them of their crimes. one of AoT's biggest recurring themes is that you must understand the enemy to defeat them. that is a fundamentally left-wing/humanist view on the world. violence begets violence - love saves us from it

@KVennie @lZoe7i5 Ah yes, fascist themes like internalized racism, authoritarian propaganda used to instill fear and control populations, moral relativism, guilt, PTSD, remorse, failure, etc. I could go on. Not to mention a prominently featured and positively depicted non-binary character.

@asianjunkiecom Really? I feel like I couldn't stop hearing about it (not that I'd want to). Maybe my memory of orbits trying to get this on every radio station on the planet is coloring my hindsight. Fantastic song though, probably my 2nd favorite loona track behind Heart Attack.

@kpopalypse That Victon song is great. Also, love reading the TikTok comments. Your hot takes tend to go over predictably bad most of the time (though not always), yet I was surprised at how many seem to enjoy your humor. Looks like snarky Aussie humor was an untapped market.

@Slender_Ender18 @AnglsBeatsInc @wrafferino This is like saying it's boring to use the Dragon Bone Smasher in Demon's. Like ...duh. I don't know what you expected while using the strongest weapon class in DS2, and one of the strongest weapon classes in the series.

@Nosferat_AN I'm going to guess you've not heard much metal. Where's the love for SOAD, RATM, Deafhaven, Bolt Thrower, etc? Plenty of metal seeks to promote healthy politics and empathetic world views. Angry music doesn't equal hateful music (though there are certainly outliers)

@thebeachll @CRAYONICV @moncheriamy @moonriivrr @sixinchbeys haven't seen s2, but sydney is just perfect in s1. she's reserved and perceptive, yet confident and collected. this is consistent in every scene. sweeney absolutely nails cassie's character. OP's clip feels a little more.... messy. it doesn't feel as defined as it should be.

@kpopalypse Well, even blogs like @nickajames almost seem to go out of their way not to say anything unnecessarily or intentionally incendiary, and then still get shit from stan twitter. Perhaps "having a thought-out opinion" is automatically inflammatory 😛

@kpopalypse I can't lie, the tiktok comments are almost starting to annoy me. Not the meaningless one line responses, those are simply forgettable. It's the comments that seem to actively attempt to misread the review. It's so consistent, it might as well be intentional.

@kpopalypse A song that attempts, and completely fails at, an interesting or weird concept is infinitely more fascinating to me than a formulaic, phoned in track.

@TiredM0use @MaximilianLBP @Electro520 @ChaosIsMel @stopTHAAD it's a world based off carl schmitt's philosophy, and one which the story constantly portrays as awful for everyone involved. it's a perfect replication of his beliefs, and everyone suffers because of it. the rich and powerful steal from the lower class to sustain their lifestyle

@_joaopedrro @joseonfag Depends on how popular they are, and for how long. Many groups spend years paying off trainee debt. Even once that's paid off, success isn't guaranteed. Some artists and groups hang on by a thread nearly their entire career. Not much in the way of transferrable skills either.

@annoyingfemale if you want to be productive in opposing spaces, you should be there to learn. that doesn't mean X or Y take is automatically correct, but by listening first, you naturally develop a better understanding of the discussion. but the incessant "um akshually ☝️🤓" is just so tiring.

@golmore @ari_gilliam @AshBCoffin Agreed! A lot of dedicated Koreans worked damn hard for that freedom. It seems like OP here is conveniently leaving out how infamously shitty US record companies are. Everyone from Korn to Kendrick Lamar have written songs about how soulless record execs are over here.

@AlexMcClinchey @MenningOwen @notjustaburner @Abdulla67619596 @AboutNintendo But... that's the whole point. The death was unexpected and out of nowhere, just like most deaths in real life. It's the story of Ellie dealing with the trauma of something she never could have prepared for. She didn't get to say her last goodbyes, and neither did many of us.

@astrangeleo admittedly true, but songwriting will always age better than production quality. plenty of classic albums sound terrible on a technical level. meanwhile, music production is constantly improving and changing - even very lazy mixes today can turn out rather competent.

@annoyingfemale debatebro culture is cursed. I'll never understand the tendency to walk into other spaces and demand that you be heard... there's generally a reason you weren't invited. the obsession with validating your own beliefs through arguments is so insecure.

@Hornets4Finals @SansDura @burrito_mon @heartlesstrait @koralinadean the idea that an altruistic business cannot exist in a free market by design is marx 101. the system forces you to underpay your workers and profit off their labor, or your customers will be stolen by someone who does

@mechamobibo @PixelBushYT @ScottJund I'll be honest: I don't care about NFTs if it means that some game devs finally get a reasonable working environment. Workers' rights are FAR more important to me that the possibility of accidentally maybe supporting NFTs by proxy.

@winxywings i have no issue with the tour being cancelled - the girls have been working since debut and could probably use a break. all i wanted was something from management that said as such. "hey, sorry but we ran outta money/nobody bought tickets/everyone was tired" would've been great.

@dumb_bright @JessicasuAKA @shiny_asa @FDsignifier well, i do believe the titans are meant to be direct references to anti-semetic propaganda. the twist is that they are all innocent humans turned into monsters by a fascist state. they don't eat humans to survive, they eat them in the hopes that they can leave that living hell.

@golmore @ari_gilliam @AshBCoffin Not to nitpick or anything, but you mentioned BTS specifically and I just saw a recent story on them. They're now big shareholders in their own company, which should mean good things all around. Hopefully we'll see some other corps follow suit soon.

BTS is described as the label's "main artist" and each member is a "creator with great producing skills." Big Hit say that by members owning the stocks, they expect the partnership between the two will grow stronger both as an artist and a creator.
