If you look carefully and very closely, you’ll see that God is consistently showing up for you and showing off with you. You are more valuable & capable than you think.
I know your WhatsApp feels like a safe space but be careful what you post & the conversations that you have. It just takes one screen shot by someone you thought you could trust, to violate your privacy.
The life partner you choose to be with can change your life. Choose a partner who doesn’t want you to play small. Choose a partner who wants your light to shine as bright as it possibly can. Choose a partner who is not intimidated by your talents, aspirations, or success.
The SABC doesn’t have money but you still want to be a TV presenter.
Wake up talented individual, YouTube has Money & they’re only getting bigger by the day.
A thread about how to open up the industry & get paid.
A lack of reciprocity is not an invitation to show your worth. It’s a sign to redirect your energies to places where you are valued and seen. Don’t waste your energy or dishonour yourself by trying to be seen or loved by someone who has no intention to do so.
Dear Black Entrepreneurs,
Please stop marketing your business like it’s an NGO. Don’t ask us to come and support you. Just present your business/product in an attractive way and let us decide if we want to come or not.
You’re a business, you need our money not our sympathy.
The content you consume impacts the quality of your mindset & directs your behaviour. Be intentional about what you consume, and observe how much the quality of your life changes.

Release yourself from the desire to please others. Your only job is to be you, fully, not a version of yourself that dishonours you or strips away your power.
You are allowed to grow into a more authentic version of yourself. You are allowed to outgrow who you once were. You don’t owe anyone “the old you”. You don’t owe anyone any version of yourself that makes them comfortable. The key is to honour YOU.
Show up like the person you want be. Speak like that person, dress like that person, have the habits that that person has, and eventually you will become them. That’s how you actively manifest the you that you want to become.
Attending events is very expensive. You have to factor in your time, transport, energy, clothes, makeup etc & the opportunity cost of going to that event versus doing something more productive. Be selective with the events you attend, make sure it’s worth it for you.
Social media has shown us that just because something looks easy, it doesn’t mean that it is. Hosting a cooking show isn’t easy, doing makeup isn’t easy, being a speaker isnt easy, dancing, acting, dj-ing are not easy. Let’s respect eachothers crafts. All talents have value.
Dear photographers,
Not all of your clients will know how to pose, feel comfortable infront of the camera, or look like a model. Please learn to work with different kinds of people & show them their unique beauty through your work.
Thank you.
Life is challenging. There’s no better evil. Entrepreneurship is hard. Employment is hard. Unemployment is hard. We all have different struggles, and they are all valid.
Having a university qualification is not a measure of intelligence or future success. It symbolizes, like all positive experiences, your ability to achieve whatever you put your mind to. Like all things, your degree only has real value when you make it work for you.
Once someone has made an assumption about your character, everything you do will support that assumption. The way u chew, the way u blink, the way u breathe will prove what they’ve assumed about you. It’s not your job to make them see you. They’ll see u if or when they choose to
Social media can be so toxic if you allow yourself to engage in movements and conversations that don’t align with YOU. Protect your mental health by curating a social media experience that grows you, not breaks you.
I hope that you don’t lose yourself in other people’s perceptions of you. Stay rooted in who you know yourself to be. Stay committed to your purpose and the positive impact you were born to make. You know your light. You do not have to prove it, just be it.
No matter what your passion or idea is you’re going to find thousands of other people who have exactly the same passion or idea. The value is in execution. So start, you’ll be ahead of everyone who is only thinking about it.
Your 20s are a time to be selfish. A time to make mistakes, a time to explore, be picky, discover who you are. Your 20s are not for others, they’re for U.Your 20s are for learning the difference between what sets your soul on fire with passion, & what sets U on fire to destroy u.
Childhood friends can seriously limit your growth.
Don’t stay friends with people just because you once shared something in the past. It’s ok to outgrow each other. New chapters of life sometimes require new networks.
Stop apologising for your rise. Don’t feel bad for your achievements or try to minimise them to make the people around you feel better about themselves. Embrace who you’re becoming & celebrate how great you’re doing.
LinkedIn for Beginners.
A thread for people who want to be social on LinkedIn and build a community, not for people who simply want to get a job. Its for people who want to build careers.
Not recognizing your value is not humility.
Being mean is not confidence.
Over working yourself is not discipline.
Putting others needs before your own is not kindness.
You’re never too old & it’s never too late to:
•re-invent yourself,
•open a business,
•start a new career,
•go back to school
•fall in love
•pursue your dreams
•start again
•get control of your health
•get the body u want
•be happy
Courage is contagious. So chase your dreams, do it afraid. Surround yourself with people who are chasing their own dreams. Feed off of each other’s energy.
“If you surround yourself with people who are lazy and don’t complete tasks, you only have yourself to blame because you chose them to be a part of your team” 🔥🔥🔥

Your 20s are a time to take risks and make stupid decisions, fail, be right, be wrong, do what makes you happy, experiment, learn, explore. It’s not a time to live upto society’s usually unrealistic & growth stunting expectations. Don’t be afraid to act your age.
Who you date, marry, build a life with, can alter the course of your entire life. Choose wisely. There is so much healthy love destined for you. Don't rush.
Marketing, PR & advertising are activities that are supposed to make the process of selling easier. They are not sales. If u expect your marketing, advertising, or PR activities to directly generate sales, u will be disappointed. They can but it’s not their main function.
Announcing your moves prematurely on social media can make you lose opportunities. If you have not signed the contract, you have not secured the deal. If you really want to share the opportunities you’re securing, wait until you’ve actually secured them.
Professionalism is still required when your client is:
1. Black
2. A small business
3. Woman owned
4. A client who pays you the least.
5. A client you don’t like.
In all cases professionalism is important.
Building your personal brand doesn’t mean you’re working on becoming pop culture famous,
It means that you’re working on being more visible to the right people in order to access the relevant opportunities for you.
Fame & personal brand are not the same thing chile
Marketers do not need to be Influencers in order to be great marketers. A marketers social media following is not direct reflection the work they can do for brands & clients.
2021 is the season of not playing small, silencing yourself, or negotiating your worth, your story needs you to be the bold & courageous main character that you were born to be.
Dear non-famous entrepreneur, be-careful when you work with celebrities, &/or people with powerful social standing etc. They’re very aware of their influence & if they want to,they will use it to steal your work, waste your time, or make you work for free without acknowledgment.
A business with a mediocre product and great marketing is more likely to succeed than a business with a great product and no marketing.
Marketing is everything.
Let me tell you a story about living within your means:
My first car was a Mercedes Benz that my parents gave me when I started varsity. As a first year student I felt pressure to make friends. So in order to gain acceptance, I let my “friends” use me for lifts etc.
A Thread.
It's so important to make it a daily habit to fight the urge to listen to your imposter syndrome. You can achieve the things you are most afraid of, you do belong in the rooms you feel unworthy of being in. You are not who your imposter syndrom says you are.
What you tell yourself about yourself is the most important conversation that you have on a daily basis. Speak life into your existence. Speak strength, power, success, love, & light into your life.
What we learned about Marketing 2020:
1. Marketing is not advertising, sales, or public relations.
2. Pricing is a marketing strategy
3. Customer acquisition & retention, growth are all part of Marketing.
4. Strategy is in everything that works well.

Many alcohol brands force inauthentic influencer collaborations. Their selection of influencers shows how brands value IG numbers over brand to audience fit. It’s not about “who has an audience that would use our product” it’s about “who has a large audience” fishing in a desert.
Children are making millions of dollars from their YouTube channels & you’re still undermining content creators as if the online space is not a valid thought leadership, influence,& monetisation tool. The way we do business is evolving. Don’t get left behind.
Just because they’re not clapping for you it doesn’t mean that they don’t see your greatness. And its also not your job to concern yourself with other people’s actions or lack there of. Clap for yourself. Live in your light and you will always attract what’s meant for you.
Knowing how to recover from “failure” is what gets you closer to the blessings that you’re truly destined to reap. Fall, change direction if you must, but don’t give up.
Master the skill of attending events alone & opening yourself up to meeting new people. Focus on connecting with others instead of speaking to them because of their title or what you think they can do for you. It’s the genuine connections that foster life changing opportunities
Boundaries look like:
•I will take care of myself 1st
•I won’t let others guilt trip me into doing things that I’m uncomfortable with
•I will honor my emotional needs
•I will stand up for myself & voice my opinions confidently
•I will not let my happiness depend on others
Thinking of:
Starting a Podcast? Record it
Starting A YouTube Channel? Do it
Selling through an E-commerce store? Launch it
Building a Brand? Create it.
You reap from the seeds you sow. Not the from the ideas you have or from dreaming of success. You reap from action.
Your business doesn’t need support, it needs sales.
Sales driven by customers who find value in your offering. Communicate your value proposition to your customers. Strive for sales.
If your content encourages people to dream, inspires people to learn & be better versions of themselves, feel joy and/or healing, or simply helps people feel validated in their uniqueness, then you are an influencer. Influence, at its core, is a form of leadership. Use it well.
It doesn’t matter how much a client spends in your business. All clients should feel like they are getting the best service. That’s how you convert your R1000 client into your R10 000 client. Customer service matters.
Getting what you want is scary because It’s easier to believe that you are not deserving. Getting what you want involves having faith that you will get it, doing the work to get it, and fighting everyday to keep it. Getting what you prayed for is work.
Every time you speak, you are communicating who you are to the world. Develop & improve your communication skills, continuously. Be your best representative.
Content approval by brand or agency is where authenticity goes to die. Work with creators who you trust. Give them a clear brief and guidelines. Micromanaging the creation process & content impacts how creators create & the overall effectiveness of campaigns.
