@joecguinan Fully expect his misplaced trust in Starmer to morph into full-throated support for whichever Blue Labour grotesque follows him

@Streettough "None of us have really figured him out yet." Sounds like a get-out clause to me, Ian.

@flying_rodent Thing is, if he did a genuine face turn, he'd bring a lot of his FBPE stans with him. But the level of introspection will be regret for backing Starmer, replaced by vigorous, full-throated support of someone like Streeting or Jess Phillips.

Tbf Labour in the UK are trying to out-Tory the Tories on immigration and it's going to work like a crank handle on an iMac
I’ve joked about this but I think at this point there’s at least a 60% chance the Democrats go in to 2026 running on the platform that they can deliver Trump’s agenda more effectively than Trump and the Republicans.

@AndyPeacock999 @joecguinan @broxtoweindys It's the sunk cost fallacy. But instead of money or a small chunk of time misinvested, it's our finite years and precious life force, making the separation even more difficult, gut wrenching, and frankly, brave.

Good point on challenges which I didn't know. This will make defections to Reform all the more likely.
Badenoch really is the greatest gift Labour could have hoped for. Arrogant and abrasive with none of the talent that might compensate for it. Now the Tories have tightened the rules on challenges she could actually limp on to the next election. It couldn’t happen to a nicer party

Once again, Badenoch's leadership of the Tories will be transformational. It'll transform the world's most successful political party into the de facto feeder club for the new British Union of Fascists.
Striking how poorly researched Kemi Badenoch's PMQs are. Best line was about Labour's new borders watchdog that will apparently WFH in Finland, knocked back by Starmer explaining he was hired and worked from home since 2019 under the Tories. Lack of fact-checking extraordinary.

In this obvious two horse bum fight for who runs the country into the ground next, you've gotta be as pissed off with the Lib Dems as Starmer's Changed Labour. Supine spectators, giddy on having seats in double figures again, just watching the country slide into fascism #PMQs

I reiterate that this is why the UK is the single most corrupt country on Earth.
40% of the world's dirty money laundered through London, UK Overseas Territories, Crown Dependencies. Govt can issue Unexplained Wealth Orders (UWO). Since 2017, SEVEN UWOs issued. ZERO prosecutions/convictions. Contrast it with attacks on little people.
