So proud of this fantastic work of @jo_bergmann and team. well deserved hard work and very thorough analysis. Showing now two top-down processes unfolding in cortical layers of visual cortex. Work @CCNi_UofG , @UofGMVLS
@layerfMRI was faster than me š
so retweeting his post now. It only took ages (because life..) but our laminar fMRI paper is finally out in @NatureComms! With @LarsMuckli, Lucy S. Petro, @atyler_morgan, Clement Abbatecola & @susan_m_li

Less visual decodability in aphantasia when stimulated with complex sounds. Compared to previous work with blind and sighted volunteers @Amiramedi and @petravetter. Well done (@BelenMMontabes, Clements, Lucy, and team at @CCNi_UofG). Fantastic work.
Freshly out in @CurrentBiology! Aphantasic participants, who report a blind imagination, show reduced decoding of auditory scenes in early visual areas. With C.Abbatecola, R.Luciani, @AngusPaton @jo_bergmann @petravetter1 L.Petro @LarsMuckli šļøšļø: 1/2

The ground truth about the human fMRI occlusion paradigm revealed by rodent š2P imaging - Super excited about this @HumanBrainProj collaboration with @kseignet at @CN_Levelt lab multispecies multiscale @CCNi_UofG. Preprint and Tweetorial below: spoiler: L2/3 are contributing!

Most exciting collaboration with @paolo_papale & @pieters_Tweet. When visual scenes are occluded, V1 still knows about the occluded information. Monkeys V1 just like human V1 is filling in mental line drawings @CCNi_UofG started with @FraserWSmith now in monkeys @HBPSysCogNeuro
Here is a interesting pre-print by @paolo_papale demonstrating that V1 neurons with an occluder in their receptive fields respond to the non-occluded parts of an image (i.e. using the paradigm of @LarsMuckli).
